The photo shows a Daytona RS sidestand . The area of the weld is a textbook example of a local stress riser-there is a v in a stressed area of the sidestand bracket. Over time, a crack will form at the point of the “v”, and the side stand bracket will bend. You will eventually notice the bike leaning further and further over until…bang! ( if you’re not lucky). Luckily, I caught this in time, and welded a fillet on the sidestand bracket. Easy fix.
