Which Transmissions Had Straight Cut Gears?

Considering straight cut gears for the race bike. I know Guzzi offered race kits with a couple different gear ratios for the 850 Lemans.

I believe some other models (besides race kits) came with straight cut transmission gears. Damaged gears for one on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-...ash=item2a6a07db05:g:DnAAAOSwnFZXXGaw&vxp=mtr

Anyone know which bikes came with straight cut gear transmissions? I am looking for trans that will fit in a V7 Sport Tonti frame.

Alex

I believe the 1000 LeMans SE version came from the factory with straight cut gears. It is the only one I know of.

Not sure if you got my PM.
I have a ZD transmission for sale

Thanks for posting in forums. I found your message and replied.
Sounds interesting!

Sport 1100, Daytona & Centauro all used straight cut. The 6-speed is a completely different animal in every aspect, so it is not even remotely plug and play. Nothing will align or work. That eBay poster is clueless on what they are selling.

I know that I am replying to an older thread, but here I am trying my best to get away from straight cut gears on my 95 & 96 model Sports, and others want to install straight cut gears and thereby changing their bike's transmissions into a whining, possibly metal shaving producing, and gear clunking machine..... I assume, since the straight cut gears are meant for a race bike, that the straight cut gears side effects are no big deal on a race bike setup......

That V7 Sport (now retired) was driven less than 20 miles a year, always at wide open throttle. Exhaust tuning led me to empty out the exhaust system so it wound up with something like megaphones. Trans noises would be just background music.
Trans failure, however, is another matter.
No matter, Porco Rosso (the V7 Sport) is now retired. The Weed Whacker is in the spot light now, and a 77 (not 76) 850 Lemans is in the wings... so I am still interested in a ZD trans I guess...
