Any recommendations??

Been looking at the Dyna 3, sachse and the Newtronic

Big difference in price, but what is the better option?

Not sure what to reccommend. Recently I spent 6 months trying to get a super-duper optical ignition to work on a V50-III without good results. I figured out the points were way out of adjustment form the previous Owner so I broke out my '70's timing light and got the points set "spot-on". The good part of the ignition kit was a pair of really strong button coils. I installed the new coils and with the old points the bike never ran so good. I'm beginning to think half of our problem with having an even idle beat is poor performing coils and not super-duper triggers.

Maybe after a year of riding I'll try to install the fancy electronic trigger again.

I had a sachse system on another guzzi which worked fine, but I read somewhere the bosch generator creates too much inteference for it, and this bike has the bosch system

I've used the Dyna on a V7 Sport and G5.
The Sport now has Sache and the G5 points.
The Sache has held up well in a very corrosive environment and the G5 points are very easy to analyze any ignition probs.

The Sache is the full blown unit. That allows removing the regulator. Expensive (IMHO), but does exactly what was needed.

I had a DYNA III in my 850T for a while, but got disenchanted when I had trouble keeping the battery charged. The DYNA III doesn't allow one to set the dwell, and keeps the coils energized most of the time, wasting power and heating the coils unnecessarily. Then it stranded me in Alma WI one year, and I went back to points and coil, which really works fine. The problem was that it also relies on a foil path on the sensor board making ground contact with the points housing. Several rides in the rain corroded that connection.

I put a DYNA "ignition booster" (~$90) in my SP last year, which still uses the points, but only to gate switching transistors. No difference in performance, but eliminates arcing on the points. This has been working fine. I guess I don't see the point in spending big bucks unless you are really gonna see some performance magic.
