hello to every one. I have just bought a california 2 1982. it has been left in a garden since 1999. So it needs a few jobs to get it back on the road.
First I have taken the engine apart and am in the process of ordering spares to put back together. I have so many jobs on the go and one is the keys to the steering lock did not come with the bike. I have taken the pin out but am not able to pull the lock out.
Has anyone any ideas how to get the lock out. I could then take it to the locksmiths to get some keys made up.

If it's in the unlocked position I wouldn't bother. I've never used the steering lock on any of my bikes. Don't even remember what the key looks like. But if your going for a working lock it would be easier to drill and punch it out then install a new one. Probably need the key to get it out without damaging the lock. MGCycle has them and probably Harper's does too.

Vincenzo,

You actually need a key to remove the lock. Take the frame to a locksmith and he should be able to make a key. The blank is a B69K. Once you have a key (preferably 2) made, turn the key in the lock and pull out the lock body out. Then you can lube everything up, put the lock body back in, and install the lock cover.

I hope the lock has been removed out but i also have same kind of issue and i have asked locksmith to come to my place and resolve the issue. They have taken it out perfectly.

This is really helpful for beginner locksmiths, thanks for sharing. I do work at arlington locksmith in Texas and it's useful for me also.
