Hi all, anyone contacted Moto Guzzi customer service lately? I’ve been trying for 3 months now and I get a message back saying their in box is full and to try again soon. I appreciate that many staff may well be furloughed and/or lockdown, but three months?
anyone have an insider there that can...
So it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy a roller tappet conversion kit. They are not cheap, I’m being pointed towards TLM in Holland as they are the cheapest, certainly far cheaper than my nearest parts supplier at £580’ish. That’s unless anyone knows better?
Cheers.
Hi, did you have any luck with this? I’m in a similar position. I’ve spoken with the ‘assistants’ at my nearest dealer and was looked at like I was stupid. I was speaking to desk muppets and not experienced mechanics. Their attitude was that as my bike didn’t have a full dealership service...
Hi guys, still working on this...
Today I took the cam shafts off, clamped the head back down and checked the compression again. I am now getting a reading on the gauge of around 200 psi instead of 20. I can only guess tappet adjuster has moved and a valve is staying open? When I put the shafts...
After recently breaking down a getting recovery home I've finally had the chance to look at my Stelvio. When it broke down it was an immediate loss of power. It felt like a valve was burnt out/leaking. I've just put s compression tester in it and there is no compression on the left hand...
My Stelvio has developed a fuel leak. I can see there is a part of the fuel line that is red and its dripping from there. Can I guess that's where it connects to the main fuel pipe? Is there a chance that's it's just a perished o ring? If so does anyone know the size? I have a box of them in the...
Hi, just fitting a new exhaust cam shaft. Where under the seat are the measurements? Also does anyone know the torque setting for the four nuts and two Allen bolts that fix the shafts in place?
many thanks, I have been
Thanks John. I've had a read there. Can I just confirm, what is the visible differences between the original and the roller cams? I bought the bike second hand and was advised a cam changed had been done and was supplied with the originals. I've checked with my local...
So having discovered the top end rattle was a broken tappet I ordered a new one. Next day delivery, I was impressed. However the new one does not fit, it has a finer thread. The part number I have is, 879707. Can anyone advise me of the part number I need?
Many thanks.
So I guess this is the reason for the top end rattle. Suppose I should be glad that it's not the cam chains. However the clearances on the other tappets are massive. I need to get my feeler gauge in there too.
Anybody recommend where I could get a new one quickly in the Gloucestershire /...
Ok. Do I need to order a set of cam chains. Fowlers of Bristol can not get them until 23rd'ish if September due to suppliers summer close down.
Anyone know who could possibly have done in stock original of pattern?
Many thanks.
