From bitter experience I would suggest everyone add checking fuse spades when doing maintenance. My 2014 has just melted the 40 amp fuse holder. It's my daily (Never owned a car) and goes out rain, hail or shine. And we get a lot of rain in NZ.
Looking at all the other fuse holders and there...
Sorry took me some time to find them. Chromes not the best but you’re welcome to them if you want. Bit of a late Christmas gift. Off a 2013/14 so should fit.
Good luck.
All this electronics was meant to make our world easier. Much like the paperless office concept and single use plastic.
Well its worked out really well for us hasn't it.
But then again I still have nightmare having worked on old school magneto systems
Bother. The only other thing that I saw in my case was corrosion on the relay associated with wire feeding the starter solenoid.
But doesn't sound like you have that issue.
You most probably have already checked but if you remove the relay and use a multimeter to the socket where you removed...
Had exactly the same problem recently.
Turned out to be the starter motor / solenoid combo
Replaced with an identical starter from an V7 and fired straight up
Covered in another thread.
California 1400 touring 2016 model not starting
An update. If anyone requires a new starter motor it appears this is common across the range. Got one second hand from a V7 and they are identical. Have a code 97729 R QD1252 on the side of the solenoid. Both 12v 1.4 Kw
Double checked and the engagement gears are identical, mounting holes...
Update
Relay 28 to activate the starter solenoid is the right hand relay in the left hand relay housing looking at the relays from the throttle side of the bike.
Pin 87 is the wire to the solenoid ( second contact away from you)
It would appear the solenoid on the starter motor has an...
Have proved starter motor is ok by doing that and swapped round the three relays. Now need to trace wire from spade connector on the solenoid back to a relay to prove continuity as no voltage when depress starter button on wire to spade.
I’ve suffered a starter motor relay failure. For the life of me I cannot find which relay on the right hand side needs checking.
Anyone know which relay does what? Nothing in the workshop manual or owners guide.
They are cosmetic. It's one of the first things I did with my 2013. But I did install some fork protectors. There is a thread on the subject. (Fork Protectors)
I used the complete Audace setup. I am presently changing the setup again using V7 rear sets as I would like the pegs further set to the rear. Once we are out of lockdown I will finally be able to finish things.
Just like you I enjoy setting it up how I want. In other words a typical Guzzi owner.
