Now I am confused. I am running the GT-Rx map on my V7 III, and didn't know I could remove the O2 sensors. Does the map turn the sensors off or did I miss some step?
Not really required, but I recommend taking the rear wheel off, just for practice when it is needed, so you know what to expect. I just did mine to change the tire and also lubed the splines.
Before getting this V7 I should've done some homework regarding MGs. They look great..sound great (Mistrals on mine) ride well WHEN working. Key word " when". Yes, they are easy to work on, however it seems that one needs to work on them constantly. So I rather have a bike that is difficult to...

Don't use the green Scotchbrite pads on the chrome. I grabbed one to clean the header pipe on my V7 III Special, and now have a 2" square scratched area. The blue ones do not scratch.
You didn't mention what years these are. And your age, and ability to ride with clip-ons. Of course, you could always change handlebars. And the noise of exhaust is up to you also. Odd that the one has had 2 owners in 3000 km. Of course, I would spend more and get the new one, with a warranty...
At 11,000 miles, just found ALL, except 1, sump screws were loose on my V7 III. Was underneath cleaning, after installing my Fenda Extenda, noticed fresh oil residue. Tightened all up, will replace gasket this winter.
