    Bleeding the brakes

This thread is a bit old but still no solution that I'm aware of. Has anyone figured out a way to put the ABS module in service mode as described in the shop manual without taking it to the dealer??

    Connecting electrical accesories

There are connectors behind the plastic steering head covers on the right side for the OEM grips. Plug and play(heat). There is also a connector under the seat for the heated seat option that makes for a handy accessory port.

    New tyres MGCT calibration

We'll lookie there! The dealer must have calibrated mine when I made the change from the stock Dumbflops to the Metzelers originally. Good to know. Thanks!

    New tyres MGCT calibration

Traction control and ABS calibrate within the first couple of feet of moving after the bike is first started. I just put Metzeler ME888 on mine and these are even better in the rain than the ME880s that I had on them before (once the tires were heat cycled and scrubbed in)!

    Bleeding the brakes

Thank you for the suggestions. I ride By spongy I mean the initial bite of the front brake is soft. It still stops okay but needs more lever pressure. Pads are a good thickness and I have "HH" rated pads on it. Admittedly, I am an aggressive decelerator  and I am very sensitize to changes...

    Bleeding the brakes

I have 22K miles on my 2014 Cali Custom. As we all know brake fluid is hygroscopic and needs to be replaced from time to time. I have a spongy front brake lever and I can't seem to get it back to normal by doing the standard bleed procedure. According to the service manual there is a way to...

    Bleeding the brakes

Does anyone know if there is anything special that needs to be done to bleed the ABS module while bleeding the brakes? Does the dealer put the ABS in a special mode through the PADS system when bleeding the brakes?

New 1400s any known issues before I buy an elderado?

Mrmerlin, Check that the nuts on both exhaust flanges are tight and that you don't have a broken weld on your crossover pipe.

2104 Cali rear fender with a broken tab.

Not sure if you could epoxy it back together or not but it would be worth a try. Make sure you replace the rear subframe hardware with real nuts and bolts or the fender tabs will definitely break again. I haven't had any problems with mine since I replaced the hardware. The dealer replaced the...

    1400 Service Code Reset!

I agree. Mine just came on after resetting it 4000 miles ago. Came on at 18700 miles. I think it's programmed for specific miles(km) at least on mine...

    Cracked Cal 14 Exhaust Parts

https://gtmotocycles.com/products/california-1400-gtm-h-pipe Thanks Todd! I've heard nothing but good things about your products and I just might take you up on that. We'll see if it can be welded back together locally first. I'd really like to put your full exhaust and remapping system on the...

    Cracked Cal 14 Exhaust Parts

Add me to the list of broken crossovers. Mine broke at 17800 miles (guess I'm lucky!). I was riding the twisty foot hills in southeastern Ohio last weekend and the exhaust crossover piece let loose. I managed to find an auto parts store 10 miles away and make a parking lot repair. I bought some...

Rough idle at start, Popping on decel in 1st gear, Poor(er) than usual low RPM throttle control

Almost forgot... Removing that Bosch pressure sensor is a bit unnerving when not knowing what the underside looks like. Make sure you pull straight up. There is a sealing grommet around a post protruding down into the intake manifold and it could break if pried off at an angle. I twisted the...

Rough idle at start, Popping on decel in 1st gear, Poor(er) than usual low RPM throttle control

I have a '14 custom with 17500 miles on it. Bought new in '14 with 0 miles. The motor is all stock except for the moaning whale mod and alternator tech bulletin fix. I ride 50 miles round trip commute everyday for work rain or shine. So about 6 weeks ago I started having issues when it first...

    Assistance please

Touringman, I just tried that and it only changed the temperature and did not change the mph to kph on my 2014 custom. Interestingly there is another menu selection for fuel consumption so you can know how many km/L that your get but it still leaves the bike in mph. I think Guzzi just didn't...

    Assistance please

The reset coupon is to turn off the little wrench that pops up as the oil change indicator. I don't think you can toggle between mph and kph.

    Assistance please

As I understand once the bike is set to mph by the dealer during setup, there is no user function to change it to kph. This revelation occurred during my trip to Canada last year. I was able to change my GPS to kph and ride on at the posted limits. Not sure what you mean about "rider 2"?

    Cracked Cal 14 Exhaust Parts

Mine broke on the right side at 10000 miles. One side of the nut had a bad weld that broke free then the other weld pulled thru. I was lucky that it could be welded back in place at a local shop.
