    Resoling M/C Boots

Dan Post Albuquerque waterproof western boot, they have been very comfortable right from the getgo and also give me that little extra lift to get my feet flat on the ground as I am also inseam challenged. I tried other "motorcycle boots" but to much trouble what with zippers, flaps and other...

    O/P Sensor R/R

I just broke down and removed the alternator which made getting the oil pressure switch in and out much easier but removing the alternator was a whole other job unto it self.

Norge windshield motor no longer works

I had all sorts of intermittent issues on my Norge concerning the windscreen. I stripped the inner fairing cover off as per the manual, all the body work and tank so I could get a good look at everything and found another connector for the windscreen along the left side in the steering head area...

    Any trick to clutch fluid?

I just did the brakes and clutch on my Norge. made my own pressure bleeder out of a small pressure garden sprayer, some 1/4 " clear hose, some 1/4" barbs with 1/8' pipe threads. I made some matching reservoir caps out of 1/4" aluminum plate, threaded them for the barbs, made some 1/16" rubber...

    Paint code

The paint code number I found was an Akzo-Nobel number, nero(black) 5.4M.22.705. I never did follow through to see if it was a good number. Bob

    Odometer now says zero

I've been over at the Aprilia site reading up on rst1000 futura and some of those owners have had the same issue happen for no apparent reason. Bob

    Norge inner bags

I'm also a fan of bagsforbikes.com. Custom made, color or combo of colors and a couple of fabric choices with a nice Goose logo for about a third of the price. I payed about $110.00 delivered and did I say I like mine. I believe she also makes a bag for the top case as well. Bob

    Bearings, Bearings, Bearings.

I realized after posting that you didn't have a Norge. I'm just going to gut the inside of the fairing, take Tank off of course, plus all the stuff you listed. I'll get through it. Was it pretty straight forward to replace your swing arm brgs? Bob

    Bearings, Bearings, Bearings.

I too wish to do this in the spring. What exactly did you have to strip off to drop the forks and triple clamps? I have a 2007 Norge and only want to take off just whats neccessary. Thanks, Bob

    pannier door warping

Exactly what kind of latch did you put on? I finally got around to looking at the bags and the latches I was thinking of are to big. Bob

    pannier door warping

While I agree with you that Guzzi could have done better with the luggage and I do really like Hepco-Becker "journey" hard bags (used on Buell), I don't like all the mounting hardware that shows when the bags are off. I like the clean looks of my Norge with the bags off on the occasion I ride...

    pannier door warping

Thats what I was thinking. I found a composite draw latch made by southco latches that may do the job. http://www.southco.com/product/class.aspx?cid=7420. Its roughly 4" x 1 1/4". Haven't measured the bag yet to see if it will work. Bob

    4-tooth V-belt pulleys?

Thats just it, the catalog I have has all that info in it. We used it to figure out pulley and belt specs along with a gear reduction drive unit to adapt our large engine lathe with an extendable bed from a unsafe cable system to a safe screw system. So why this info isn't on their site escapes...

    4-tooth V-belt pulleys?

Okay I take my info back, the Gates site sucks. I have a very comprhensive gates catalog with formulas for pulley sizes belt lengths load/torque spec's etc. I could find no such info on their web site. Sorry for the lousy info. Bob

    4-tooth V-belt pulleys?

Are you asking about an actual v-belt or do you mean a toothed flat belt as used on blowers?Gates make toothed belts. I have their catalog in my shop with all the info your probably looking for but that won't help you, they must have all the same info online. Bob

    Oils and Thoughts

I don't know about Lucas oil spec's, but I use Mobil1 20w-50 v-twin synthetic oil because of availability and to some extent the cost (nearing $25.00/liter) of the eni(agip) 10w-60. I think any oil formulated for air cooled v-twins should be good. I ride my bike for enjoyment so unless I get...

    Norge vs FJR

I too was considering an FJR and honda st but as was stated before they have a tall saddle which was prohibitive for my short inseam, with the Norge factory low seat I can put my feet flat on the ground.Be honest how much power do you really need? I tested an fjr and st1300 and found both...
