If your cruise control is on the brake lever side then you have the old style cruise control
if however it is on the clutch lever side that is the new style cruise control with up/down switch for controlling speed select
I have had both on a 2014 model old style and the new style on the clutch...
I have had two models, a 2013 that I installed the Guzzi heated grips which connect to the cable supplied under front of tank
I now have the 2017 model that does not have the heated grip connectors and threr is no grips for them made by Guzzi and no plans to do so, they came up with some lame...
Dave, your correct you can not lower the shocks, but you could try what I did to give you an inch or so
take the sit off and remove the rubber bunges on the underside and see how that feels, you can always pop them back in
You are correct, the cables need to be the other side of the screen bracket
Just checked it out on my machine
what puzzels me is why would putting heated grips on effect the cabling unless some one have taken the screen off at some point and put the brackets on wrong
All tourings come with alarm fitted as standard
the red blinking light on the dash is the imoboliser
if your alarm is wired to the bike a red blinking light will be seen on the clutch side, side panel
you can deactivate the alarm by placeing the plastic loop bung (that came with your keys ect)...
This applies in the UK but may be relevant in other parts of the world
I went on to the compare the market and other insurance sites for a quote on my bike insurance
If you have a California SE like I do make sure you inform them as most sites only have a drop down box for the none SE version...
FInally have a result here on my E4 california 2017 model
this weekend I have fitted the Oxford touring hotgrips OF691
removing the original grips was easy, no need the cut them off
just used long flat end screwdriver up the tube and sprayed wd40 up
let it soak in for a minute and twisted the...
So if I am getting this right, Do I have to grind the ribs off the throttle tube on the bike NOT the Oxford grips
Can I get a replacment throttle tube if it does not work out to reinstate the original grips back on the bike
I would use the heat control that comes with the Oxford grip not wire...
Thanks Kiwi, I can't use Oxford grips as my throttle can not be swapped over to Oxford grip because of all the electrics incased on the throttle with it being fully ridebywire as mentioned in prevous feedback on this thread.
Hopeing someone may have come up with an alternative proven way of...
Now that the cold weather has hit us in the northern hem, has anyone come up with a solution to this problem of heated grips for the Cal1400 and the mgx
Just got a pair a Keis heated gloves and I hate them, it's like wearing astronaut gloves no dexterity whatsoever
Hi Robert G
Thats correct fuse number 1 (closest to rear wheel) on the bike fuse block as it is away from the ECU and coil less damage if anything should happen
this way when you turn ignition off your satnav will automaticly turn off after 30 seconds or so also you wont drain battery leaving...
Wiring of satnav the easy way for me
thread your satnav power cable under the tank (no need to take tank off just undo the two bolts under the seat to lift it an inch or so)
use a length of coathanger wire to guide it through, obtain a 6 x fuse block 12" of 1.5mm cable
and a piggy back fuse...
I also have the risers on, but strange I never needed them for the first Cal I had, same bike just newer model
this new 2017 model feels different so I put the risers on it, also after owning a Guzzi for over 3 1/2 years I just discovered that if you remove the seat turn it upside down and remove...
all I can say is if you value heated grips, you wont get them for this model as there is no plans for Guzzi to manufactor them for the fully ride by wire throttle, its the same for my E4 2017 version and were would you put a topbox it would totally spoil the lines.
personally Im not to fond of...
Sorry I misread the original question, I have the latest model e4 cal touring and that has no adjustment other than the remote preload
but no hight adjustment
Im in the same boat as you mate, with no paddle
all you can do is adjust the preload, no hight adjustment on the new shocks
Guzzi say its an improved shock not to me it's not had the 2013 model and that was far better
not briliant but better
The HBC200 HD Force is a Uclear system, sorry I don't know anyone using it as a passenger
But before I set of with my biker mate on the bikes if we are stood next to each other and speaking through the system
there is a slight delay as you hear your self in the really world as well as through...
