    Guzzis in Quebec

Dedecaster, I must admit, I was using an online translation service. My high school French is awful. I can barely order lunch in it. I'll be sure to look you up if I travel north. Je dois admettre , j'utilisais un service de traduction en ligne . Mon lycée français est terrible . Je peux à...

    Guzzis in Quebec

Me too, I'm from Massachusetts, USA, and Quebec is a favorite destination. I heard that the Quebec government doesn't like motorcyclists though, because of outlaw bikers. And this is why there are so few rallies up there. Moi aussi , je suis du Massachusetts, États-Unis, et le Québec est une...

    V7 special idle problems

I suggest the shop connect an electronic scan tool to check the fault codes and component failure, but it seems like they must have done that if they loaded a new map. This is a 2013 with the "new" engine, right? Does this mean a throttle body (TB) replacement includes the small ECU that's...

    Marvel Mystery Oil

I go out of my way to get top tier fuels. Not sure if it really matters, as when I pulled my low mileage V7 heads they did not look clean at all. I'm thinking about investing in race gas for my bike, although my wallet begs for mercy.

Rear drive and trans lube recommendation.

I think the moly additives are no longer recommended, at least for the smallblock.

    Marvel Mystery Oil

I've used it on the outside of the engine. Used with aluminum foil, to clean old corrosion. As for inside the engine, I like the idea, but intellectually I think it's snake oil. Although the idea of adding it just before an oil change to loosen things up seems like a good idea. Actually the...

    Weirs Beach Laconia 2016

I went up to Loudon Speedway for the test rides of a variety of makers. Sadly, Ducati was the only European brand, but their tent was the best! They had a pair of buxom Ducati girls, barely dressed, serving expresso and biscotti. Ducati knows how to sell bikes (Guzzi, are you listening?)...

    New seat question

I bought a small Airhawk "R" and it actually feels good. Not good for sport riding, or jaunts around town, but it feels like it will ease the long treks to rallies and things. Note that the small is almost too small. Just barely enough. And I'm an average guy on a V7, so there's not a lot to...

    Not the best first post...sorry!

Your bike doesn't look good. Fortunately factory parts aren't usually necessary for common pieces. I would see if your closest bike shop had something for it.

    Cafe Classic Decal removal

Use caution. A little too aggressive and you'll dig out a paint chip.

    V7ii ABS brake bleeding.

People wander into my garage, and some (most?) have no mechanical sense at all. However for a few of them I don't mind. Actually, it's a struggle to get "the right people" to come in. Know what I mean?

V7 blowing oil through the rings

I really don't want to enter this fray, so I'll simply say that Guzzi Master has some pithy comments on the air system in his book Guzziology. It's not a cheap book, but it's a great source of knowledge.

    2010 V7 Cafe Clutch Failing?

Dan, if it's like my 7 yr old V7, then all you need are a pair of pliers for the knurled locknut. You might not even need that. It might be finger-tight.

What's the deal, are the original people gone?

Thank you all for recognizing my humorous attempt to divert this to an oil thread. I feel like, given enough time, every motorcycle thread goes to oil.

What's the deal, are the original people gone?

So I can use 15w-50 oil instead of 10w-60?

    Beads vs. Air Saddle accessory

I tried Airhawks but didn't like the crowding of my privates. King of F and others said to try the new R version of the Airhawk, so I'll give that a go. Airhawks isn't bad, maybe it just needs more long distance testing by me. Ironically the stock "board" seat feels great on short trips, but...

    New seat question

Fleece, I just looked at the Airhawk website. Yea, the R version might work better. I had been using the Cruiser Small. Hawg, the sidecar would work. In addition to my "package" I've got this huge ego to carry (according to the wife).
