Guzzi V7 dies with "clacking" sound and won't start again

It's under warranty - get it to the dealer.

My V7 finally let me down....

Picked her up last night. Put a short 20 miles or so on her and all is well. Dealer (at my approval) put over 100 on her before giving the thumbs up. As stated before, valves on one jug extremely loose, on other jug tight, 1000 miles after last service. Thankfully everything covered under...

My V7 finally let me down....

No real update yet, still at the dealer. They did say that the valves were way out- one side tight (the side they replaced a leaking head gasket on last December, and the other was way, way, way loose. Again, they did the service last December, about 1,000 miles ridden since. Wouldn't even...

My V7 finally let me down....

True enough. Catastrophic is a tad strong of a description. I do have 6400+ miles on it already and am still smitten.

My V7 finally let me down....

Yes, I've got to say, the crew at ClevelandMoto are awesome. Known them for a while now and am always impressed with the level of customer service. Upside is it gives me a chance to put a few miles on my old girl, 1980 Yamaha XS850 Special which I have almost completely ignored since getting...

My V7 finally let me down....

Agreed it's excess fuel that burned up cats. But to happen so drastically and quickly on both sides limits possibilities to those things common to both. Odd thing is never gave a check engine light or codes. Dealer has it and will hope to find the root cause. It's just upsetting to have...

My V7 finally let me down....

So, pretty much since new the only niggle I've had with my 2014 stone is that every so often it would just cut out. Usually catch itself and be fine for weeks or even months at a time. I've done all the recommended fixes, re-route melting clutch cable, removed evap system (I'm in the U.S.)...

    Early V7 Radial Tire Thread

I see Bike bandit has a few odd rear sizes available already, so I'd say they are on target. I won't be using tubes, but look forward to seeing how/if radials improve the bike. No complaints with the Sport Demons, but look to be worth a try.

    Naked norge

I remember seeing a dealer a several years back that was buying Norges that were damaged in shipping (1st generation) and removing all of the fairings and replacing with the tank trim from the Breva 1100. If had the $$ then would have bought one.

    V7 II Stone handlebar ideas

Anyone running "M" bars? I too have been thinking about something a little more aggressive but not as low as clubman. Have seen them on a few triumphs over the years and know of a few sources.

2013 V7 Racer exhaust popping noise

You need the XD05F plug cap (from amazon as well) and they fit perfectly. Same spark plugs though. The "B" is for plugs 14mm and larger. The "D" is for 10mm & 12mm plugs. The plugs used here are 10mm.

    '14 Stone just dies

Since it was in the shop for another problem (vent tube was leaking oil at the head, covered under warranty), I went ahead and had it's 6,000 mile service done a bit early back in December. Service done at a very reputable MG dealer by the only tech I'd trust my bike to. Not to mention it's...

    '14 Stone just dies

Tank vents to atmosphere. Vacuum port is on the intake manifold, which must be capped.

    Rally in the Adirondacks...

Would love to head up if i can get the time. Was stationed at Plattsburgh, AFB back in the late 80's and loved riding that area. Wanted to stay up there but couldn't find a good job at the time. Should be a great rally.

    '14 Stone just dies

Fuel filter was next on my list of things to fix/replace anyway, so will hope for the best. It doesn't feel like a starvation issue though, and being so sporadic is strange too.

    '14 Stone just dies

Well, Hope some one else has had this very intermittent problem. My '14 V7 Stone will just die. Just the motor, like I hit the kill switch (didn't). Lights stay on, no check engine or codes and not a stumble and stall, just dead. Some times it will fire back up before I come to a stop with...

    Help identify this exhaust system

That first system is very similar to BAAK's. A little different muffler. IIRC Todd is looking into carrying some of their equipment, much of which is quite nice. Personally, I think a system that short, depending on headpipe ID will be giving up some bottom end in exchange for a "look"...
