    Breva 1100 windshield spoiler

My windscreen, even at it's highest setting beats me w turbulence. I've been looking at an MRA X-tour spoiler to deflect the offending airflow over my head. Has anyone tried one of these ? Has anyone successfully addressed the same issue in other ways ?

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

Me too. With my schedule as it is, I don't think I'll get it torn down till next Spring. I suspect the front main bearing is the culprit.

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

The engine swap went without drama. No noise at all now. The engine runs like a Rolex. Have the old A5 ready for teardown. How hard can it be.....?

Wiring in an aux fuze panel

I'm in the process of installing a switched fuze panel to run a few accessories. With the seat off my 09 Stelvio I can't find a switched electrical lead off which to power the relay. Anyone been down this road before ? How did you do it ? It appears that using the tail light circuit (which...

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

Hey Abbie... Pulled the flat tappet actuator off the left head of the A8, getting ready to swap out the roller actuators from the (dead) A5 when both engines are out of the bike. Check it out.... The DLC is shot, but there seems to be no metal wear on the tappet face. The cam lobe showed...

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

It's on ! The A8 is in my garage. Tonight will be spent cleaning the gunk off the lump. What's the secret with the hose clamps ? Is a special pair of pliers required ? Thought I'd ask before I just started mindlessly dickin' around w it....

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

Wayne When I had it torn down to check the big ends, I replaced the bearings, too. Once you're in there...I might as well. No change in noise. That leaves the front or rear bearing. To replace either the lump has to come out.....so...

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

I'm certain it''s not clutch noise, as it makes no difference whether it's clutch in or out, in neutral or in any gear. Will look at fwd main bearing.

    Engine swap: A8 into 09Stelvio (A5)

My Stelvio engine is making ugly noises from the lower end when it's warm. I checked the big end clearances w a plastigage and they were fine, and the local dealership is unable to diagnose the problem.... A low mileage used A8 (from a Griso) is on the market locally, and I'm wondering if...

    Front brake master cylinder

I just realized that the DPO of my 09 Stelvio broke the mirror boss off the right front brake master cylinder housing. He JB welded it back on, and hid the damage beneath the hand guard. Brilliant....:( Does anyone have one they'd like to sell ? A long shot for sure, but the replacements run...

    Rollerization

Honestly I'm not surprised. The valve spring constant can't be more than 200#/inch. A shim of .02 thickness would provide about 4 # force. Engineers love splitting hairs like that.

    Rollerization

The difference with the C kit (from the A or B) is a shim beneath the exhaust valve. (exhaust I think...) When I was looking at the shim, it's VERY thin. Probably not more than .02 in. I THINK it serves to 'preload' the valve spring to accommodate the different cam profile w the roller kit...

    Rollerization

I ordered my C Kit from AF1 Racing. It arrived 48 hours later. Damn good service. Abbie.....sent ya a PM

    Rollerization

Abbie I used the Lakewood branch of Cleveland Moto. The tech's name is Johnny; and he seems VERY conscientious. I spoke to him for about an hour while he was in-work. I don't have the bike back yet because I gave them the incorrect fork seals to replace, and they had to order the correct size...

    Rollerization

So.....not to start another oil war....but... What oil is used AFTER the rollerization is complete?? Are most folks staying w the pre-roller 60 weight AGIP stuff??

    Rollerization

Did you flush the oil system out after rollerization (is that even word......) ?? Also I'm considering cutting the oil filter open to see if there's any DLC chips captured there....

    Rollerization

Swallowed hard and went with the local Guzzi dealer, Cleveland Moto. They opened her up to inspect the tappet faces. It wasn't pretty. The right cam box: OK...now the left The left cam..... Having owned a KLR in my sordid past, I felt the tappet issue to be a little like the doohicky...
