First impressions from a new owner.

You can change ride mode by starting engine and then push starter button again, that will highlight whatever mode it is in then push it again to change to next mode and give it a couple of seconds to set and all done. You can do it while riding using the same procedure but the throttle must be...

    Oh No - Not Tires

The Eldo is a 180/65/16 standard. Some have replaced the 200 with a 180 and say it improves the handling, see Scottmastrocinque post just above mine re. tyre sizing.

    Oh No - Not Tires

A tale of tyres. On my Eldo I have had, the original Dunlops, 2 pairs of Metzler 888's, 1 set Avon Cobra, 3 sets of Avon Cobra Chrome, now running Michelin Commander 3s, Original Dunlops 11,000kms, Metzlers around 14,000kms, Avons around 11,000kms, all were replaced as pairs, front and rear...

How many miles on a tank of fuel? Fuel seeping out of cap

I managed to run out today, 6.4l/100km, 67kms from when fuel light came on and 298.4kms in total. That works out at almost exactly 19ltrs, but I was going up hill at the time so that probably didn't help. I did manage to get an extra km or so by shaking it from side to side :)

    CA 1400 Luggage Mockup

Try and locate an Eldorado seat, there is a built in luggage rack under the pillion pad, it could be exactly what you are looking for. Quite a few owners swap the Eldo set up for the more comfortable pillion seat dual Cali seat.

    Help with my MGX21

It wouldn't hurt to check and clean your 40A fuse they have been known to corrode in the holder and cause problems

Searching for OEM sissybar for California 1400

As far as I know the Guzzi backrest only came out on the SE models so there probably isn't many original ones available, H&B maybe your only option.

How many miles on a tank of fuel? Fuel seeping out of cap

I've never had it leak from around the cap, on mine, a 2015, there is a vent in the neck of the tank connected to a hose that runs under the tank and ends under the bike near the gearbox, letting excess fuel to run out on to the road, maybe this is no longer allowed with later emission standards...

Did you have to modify the gear and brake levers to accommodate those boots? 😊

California 1400 fuel tank capacity & MPG question

Sounds like the fuel pump pick up is at the front of the tank, if you could extend it to the rear then that would probably solve the problem. Can't say I've noticed it on my Eldo, except a few weeks ago it was running on empty after my last ride and when I left home for the next outing it did...

How many miles on a tank of fuel? Fuel seeping out of cap

Do you mean it was dripping from the tank itself or from the overflow pipe under the bike? The petrol is cold coming from the tank underground and on a warm day If you fill it to the brim and don't ride off straight away it will expand in the bike tank and the build up of pressure will force it...

California 1400 fuel tank capacity & MPG question

Yes, that is the one shown in the photo on my original post. I only fill it to the limit if I am going to get back on and ride straight away otherwise yes you do risk expansion pushing petrol out of the overflow if you let it sit while full.

California 1400 fuel tank capacity & MPG question

I beg to differ, it is just purely a small hole in the lip of the tank to allow air to escape once the petrol starts to fill the neck of the tank, it doesn't increase fuel capacity, making it larger just allows the air to escape faster while squeezing in an extra litre or two, it has nothing to...

Thanks for the offer but as you say postage will probably be ridiculous. I'll get by using the PDF.

    Fork oil

My fork oil must be long overdue for a change, there doesn't seem to be any drain plugs so I guess they have to be removed and tipped upside down. Would that be correct? Has anyone done this before? Any Tips?

DIY cradle for California 1400 jack and roller: try or bail?

Have a look at Roadventures post here before you remove the rear wheel the first time, it is bloody heavy, and reverse it to put it back in, roll the wheel back under the bike and slide the axle through while the wheel is on the ground then raise it up slightly and slide the wheel along the axle...

DIY cradle for California 1400 jack and roller: try or bail?

Not sure on the minimum height requied to remove the wheels, if yours is a Cali then nowhere near as high as the Eldo which has a much longer rear guard. I've made no modifications to the cradle since it was made, except to use a small removable wooden block between the the lugs on the rear of...
