V7 III Special, impressions at 1200 miles

Thanks for the info. Sounds about right with the other comments. I may have to start looking at how many of my after market parts can be transferred.

V7 III Special, impressions at 1200 miles

Nice write up. Any chance you know what rpm you're pulling in 6th at 80mph? I have a 15' V7 and have been wondering if the v7iii new 6th gear ratio dropped cruising revs much.

Adding luggage...... Finally got my Givi E21s on the V7

@MotoBug unfortunately I am away from the bike for the next few weeks, so pics of the mount are not possible. However, the point I mounted to is easily accessible. If you remove the seat, at the rear of the subframe, you will find two holes, one of which will pass through the fender. On my...

Adding luggage...... Finally got my Givi E21s on the V7

I didn't record any of the measurements, just made sure each side matched. If you are looking for specific measurements, I can go out and get some. The raw materials were 1/2" tubing and angle iron. One thing that would have made the project much easier, would have been welding the pieces...

Adding luggage...... Finally got my Givi E21s on the V7

I'm kind of picky when it comes to luggage on motorcycles. Todd has many fine offerings for lockable side bags, and to be honest, the Orbitz side cases https://www.guzzitech.com/store/product/orbitz-side-case-set-22-liter-for-c-bow/ for the c-bow mounts look like an outstanding solution at a...

I might be able to get in on this.

    Newbe questions

I agree, after doing as much searching as possible, Todd's programmer tool offered here in the store is IMHO our best option. Todd was very quick with support and the mapping is very very good. Coming from riding a Triumph and using tune ecu, I had the same question when I picked up the V7...

    V7 C-S Suspension Thread

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the top eyelets will be the same width as oem shocks? I'm fabbing up a set of racks for some Givi e21 side cases. If it's questionable I'll wait until they are in to finish the racks. Tony

Any update on the Matris fork cartridge kits and GT rear shocks?

    New Rack for my V7

Any issues welding the oem grab rails? I'very got the chrome version, but was considering welding onto them to make some racks for my givi e21s.

    V7 C-S Suspension Thread

Has there been a road test of this fork kit. What is the level of adjustability in the damping? I have a GT hybrid kit waiting to ship when the GT twin shocks are ready. Would this kit offer much if any ride improvement over the mupo cartridge and matris preload adjuster?

I joined the family yesterday! Thanks for everyone who helped with advice.

Congrats! You're going to love it. I think I know where you picked it up, that might have been the last of the 15's left here in southern California. I was shopping mine about 1.5 months ago, ended up in San Diego.

    New V7 II Stone POS

Well, this thread has certainly been enlightening. If I had read this about a month ago, I probably would have been scared off of buying my V7. However, I'm glad I took the plunge and now I have a whole list of things to keep an eye on lol. I've read similar posts on Hinkley triples and had...

    New seat question

I find the oem seat to be good for about 100 miles before my sit bones start to feel the pinch. John has it right, higher density foam is the answer. I plan to send mine off to get redone. I've done a few my self using high density marine neoprene foam...

    V7II Gear lever

I just adjusted my '15 the other day. To get at the top lock nut on the adjuster, I pushed the gear lever down (like shifting into 1st) and tied it to the kickstand. This moves the linkage up for better access to the top nut from the top side of the swingarm. Hope this helps, worked for me.

Source for '15 V7 tail light lens?

Well, a little more digging has given enough me the correct part number which includes the refractor/ lens for $18, I can live with that. EBay also has some for less, but no screws or clear square lens for the plate. Coincidentally the same lens fits a few buells. I'm going to take my...

Source for '15 V7 tail light lens?

Came home from another break-in ride to find my brake light bulb/refractor hanging by the wires and the lens and screws gone. Guess it shook loose somewhere between my last stop and home. I'll try the dealer tomorrow to check for warranty replacement. In the mean time, I pulled up the oem...

    New Guzzi owner checking in

Thanks, GT shocks, are the Guzzi Tech custom shock absorbers found in the store on this site. The GT hybrid fork kit is the Guzzi Tech fork upgrade also found in the store tab at the top of the page. Very nice looking upgrades to get the suspension setup on this bike.

V7 Charging issues / Dead battery -- PLEASE READ

Ok, looks like my recently purchased 15' V7 is in the clear for now. Just tested at the terminals with a multimeter. 12.5v off, 14.1v at idle, 14.3v at 3,000rpm. I'll be keeping an eye on it from time to time. Good job for those that searched and found solutions for the issue.

    New Guzzi owner checking in

Thanks gentlemen. I plan on scheduling the 600 mile service in Orange for late next week and I'm placing the order for the GT shocks and hybrid fork kit today. As much as I'm enjoying the V7 as purchased, dialing it in is just as fun.
