UPDATE: Almost 6 months after my starting problems began, a follow up on my startus interuptus issues. "Check your battery" they said, "Probably your battery" they said, "Have you tested your battery?" they asked. Well, yes! I checked voltage on the battery with my multi-meter staic and during...
Finally received the last of the new relays for the Breva. (Backordered to the factory) I have now changed all 5 relays under the seat and it has made no difference. Startus Interuptus rules. Where should I look next for a solution?
When you say the motor "churned" do you mean it was turned over by the starter? If so, this is a different condition from what I have going on. All I have is a loud thunk from the solenoid when hitting the start button, no starter turning.
Thanks, Brian. I already had the replacement relays in my que on the AF1 site but thought I'd make one last plea for any new ideas here before pulling the trigger on them.
Just checked out Dan's dpguzzi page and the FAQ section says none of his relays fit Breva, Griso, Norge or later model MG. Ugh! Back to the Aprilia drawing board I guess.
Thanks, that was my next thought, too. I thought someone posted a couple years ago that Triumph used the same relays that we have but I couldn't find the post in my search. Anybody know if that's true and if so which models crossover?

A different kind of startus interruptus

I am at my wits end trying to solve my startus interuptus issue. I'm having the EXACT same issues as pswiatki above. The starter gives a very...
Thanks, I've checked the solenoid tab and it seems snug. I switched out the 30 amp fuses for the spares, cleaned the holder and no change. My Antigravity Li-ion battery is rated at 480 CCA which, I think, should be more than enough to do the job and it is fully charged. I know it spun the motor...
On my '07 I've load tested my battery and my load tester says it's good to go. Measuring battery voltage at the battery I get 13.2 after pulling the charger off. I know you can lose up to 1 volt between the battery and the starter just to resistance in the wiring harness. I can jump start it by...
I'm having a similar issue with my 2007 Breva V1100. It will start when it feels like it, maybe once every 30 attempts or so. Once it does start it runs normally and when shut off, it will always restart, I've tried it 10 or 12 times in a row and it starts every time. Once I walk away and come...
Update to my starting issue: I purchased an Antigravity Lithium ion battery from Guzzitech, 480 cranking amps, and she fired right up, first time! Problem solved! Even better my old glass-mat battery weighed 13 lbs, the new Li-ion battery weighs 3.1! That's almost 10 lbs lighter! So the...
Thanks, Brian. As I said I've done the MPH starter relay wire around but I guess if battery amperage is low it wouldn't necessarily help! I will pull the starter again and have a peek at the brass plunger contact on the solenoid. I considered taking a look when I originally had the starter out...
I'm having the same starting issue with my Breva. I installed the MPH wiring kit about 3-4 months ago, never had a starting issue it just seemed like cheap insurance. Everything was fine for a couple months. I've been really busy and haven't ridden in about 2 months, but the bike is hooked up to...
