Final drive leaking again yesterday at 692 miles - the bike was dealer serviced at 632 miles.
My initial leak was repaired by the dealer at 202 miles.

Guzzinick - hope your repair shop can fix your final drive leak - most of the leaks that I've read about on this and other moto guzzi forums have been repaired under warranty.
i would like to hear from anyone who has had the repair performed out of warranty and what was entailed - any special...
You've got it 'European Directive 1999/44/EC'. My wife and myself have used it in the past and it does make people jump.
The repairs to my final drive are holding up after 300 more miles - no leaks - hope your fix turns out well on Monday.

jkristjan - if i remember you live in the EU like myself - under EU consumer rights law you have to give the seller the opportunity to repair a defective vehicle - once - if that repair fails you have the choice to reject the vehicle and claim a full refund or give them a further attempt to...
Got my V9 back yesterday after oil leak repairs - they said the cause of leak was a vent valve split copper sealing washer - they never even took the back wheel out so hopefully the seals will hold.
The leak appeared after a 12 mile evening stroll on back roads averaging 32mph.
Hi bkiser - I think you will find that checking fluid levels is part of the pre-delivery dealer inspection - here is a pic of my Moto Guzzi inspection certificate.
Update - on Monday my dealer is pulling a new V9 from the showroom - removing the final drive assembly from it and fitting it to my...
bkiser - Bob - GT-Rx - s-flow Thank you for your responses - Well that's three V9s with the same 1st gear characteristics so hope all is normal - however, I'm still curious about the secondary 1st gear click when a load is applied (its from the gearbox and not the shaft to the back axle) as...
Perhaps you can help me - when i select 1st gear it is silent, no 'click' 'clunk' or 'feel' that a gear is engaged other than the neutral light going out - then when the clutch bites i can hear a click as she moves off. This is the first bike I've had that does not clunk when going into 1st.
I...
My 2017 red Roamer arrived on Friday and have just put 73 run in miles on her - love it - fits my 6' frame perfect and plenty of passenger room on the new seat - gutsy engine - excellent brakes - getting used to the gearbox - beautiful finish - compact and light weight suits its elderly rider -...
Thanks GT for your response - pleased i didn't pay for a paper copy of the service manual.
i don't have the bike yet - I've got a 2017 Roamer on order (the one with re-positioned pegs and proper dual seat) its due in a few weeks so just reading up on it - thanks for the advice and yes i will...
Page 43 of the v9 service station manual 2Q000193 tells me to check the oil level in the engine with the oil filler plug/dipstick inserted but not screwed in.
Page 102 of the owners manual tells me to check the engine oil level with the oil filler plug/dipstick screwed all the way in. What do i...
