    Reassembling the Eldorado

The Guzzi VHBs are the only ones that the idle and main jets are the same size. This is because they're the only VHBs with accelerator pumps built into the main jet assembly. On all the other VHBs, the main jet screws into the "bolt" that holds the float bowl on.

    Reassembling the Eldorado

If you swapped the carbs left to right and it's still not running on the right side, then it doesn't sound like a carburetor issue to me. The "olive drab" floats start out as grey when new and turn color after prolonged exposure to fuel.

BB TONTI REGISTRY and pic thread

1990 California III Carenato Integrale. Puchased Labor Day weekend '23. Almost finished a total refurb. Plan to ride it to the National in John Day, OR. VIN: ZGUVWBVT2LM300054. 45k miles. Early 1969 V750 Ambassador. Owned longer than any other vehicle. Purchased in April of '97 with 36,360...

    Reassembling the Eldorado

I use a Q-Tip chucked in a drill and fine valve lapping compound to polish the float needle seats. New float needles with pink/orange tip? Did you check to make sure the float wasn't filling with gas? New choke valve? Spring long enough to seat it well? Enough slack in the choke cables? I'd...

    Will a v11 lemans sidestand work on a 850T?

I saw this on another forum, sidestand from a '94 Honda CBR 600. I mid-mounted one from a Kawasaki Z750 onto my V50 III.

Locking plates for 1975 850 T rear main bearing.

Since the cam plug will likely never be removed for any reason, JB Weld will be fine. It's what I use on all of the engines I build. Hylomar is my least favorite sealer of all time.

    Reassembling the Eldorado

The pulley can be installed 120 degrees and 240 degrees out. Set the left cylinder to TDC and then install the pulley so that the "B" mark is aligned with the arrow. A long bolt with the head cut off is a good alignment stud to make installing the pulley and shims easier. Don't use bolts any...

    Reassembling the Eldorado

I assume you've rebuilt the carbs? Did you replace the floats with the new white ones? Did you replace the choke valve springs with new? The reason I ask both of those question because both have been issues on customer bikes in the past. The white floats are rubbish - you really can't set the...

No, those "velocity stacks" are for early Tontis and will not work. I have a bunch of good, used, original Loopframe 'stacks.

    California Gas Tank Compatibility

Mark @ Moto Guzzi Classics has built a number of "specials" using earlier tanks on EV era Guzzis. The fuel pressure relief valve that is mounted inside the forward part of the tank "tunnel" on your EV would be attached where the right-hand petcock would be on the Cal II tank. You'll need the...

    Unknown Guzzi engine

The "VT" prefix denotes a California II engine as far as I can tell, but the engine in the photo is fitted with a "broad sump" which was used on the 1100 Sport injected, V10 Centauro, Daytona RS, Daytona Racing, MGS01, V11 Sport, V11 LeMans, Rosso Mandello, Nero Corsa, Scura, Tenni, V11 Cafe...

    Reassembling the Eldorado

On all of the peg rubbers I've bought, the script is both "right-side up" and "upside down", 180 degrees rotation from each other. If it doesn't read correctly, rotate it on the peg 180 degrees. I've never noticed any difference in length, but then I never really looked.

    Reassembling the Eldorado

I'll be coming out your way this June for the MGNOC National Rally in John Day and to visit my brother in Fort Rock. Won't be on any of my Loops though - riding my Cal III FF. The Ambassador in the blog will be coming along with me though, ridden by it's latest caretaker.

    Reassembling the Eldorado

    1. I prefer to install the engine into the frame first (front engine bolt through mounts) first, then tilt the engine forward and install the transmission. Much easier if you're doing it by yourself. 2. I find it easiest to install the engine and transmission into a bare frame and build up from...

    G5 Timing Cover???

"Space for the ignition". The ignition is all in the "distributor", which is up to the rear of the right cylinder, nothing on the timing cover. There's only the alternator, and that is the same physical size on all Tontis.
