    Anyone with factory panniers?

Yes they do. A bit of a pain but I am on my third Norge so it must not be a deal killer. As for falling off, the Norge has a clip on the front of the bag that goes over a pin so it can't slide back. It can be a pain to slip up and over to take the bags off but I like the extra security.

    Norge CalSci Windscreen

I'll third this. I have had 3 Norges (2 2007 and one 2012) and all had the Pacific Scientific screens installed.

This PDF was a life saver when I did mine.

    Rollerization

Mine showed slight wear at 2,900 miles. One local dealer did not want to touch it as Guzzi had refused an earlier claim. The other dealer quoted approximately 9 hours labor (not covered by Guzzi either way) and the bike would sit in his shop for at least 3 months before he could get to it. I...

Is a California jackal a good bike?

I think I made a big mistake back in 2008 when I bought my 2007 Norge from Speaker's. Sometime in the course of the next year or so he offered me a brand new Jackal that somebody had put a deposit on and never picked up. He said give me the $6000 owed on it and you can have it. I said I...

    The Good Oil

I have no idea why the difference in the CARC but AMsoil recommended the 75-90 Severe Gear in the gearbox. In my opinion it shifts much better than the Agip.

    The Good Oil

As I stated before I contacted Amsoil and they recommended the SAE 60wt V-Twin oil. I broke down and decided to try it. Primarily to see if I could gain another mpg. It didn't. It appears to pour easier at room temperature than the Agip 10w-60. My bike seems to run fine on it. I also...

removing the rear wheel without centre stand

You can buy a scissor jack cheap, like about $10 from a junk yard or eBay. Personally I like the Honda ones though others may be better as I have only tried a few. I jack it up then put boards under the bike and set it on those for support while working on it. If you can strap the bike to...

    Front axle stuck

First WD-40 is lousy penetrant. Try a speciality penetrant like Kroil or Nuts Off. You can make your own with a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone. The home made and Kroil are the top of the line. Heating the forks I do not think will make and difference as from your description it is moving in the...

Engine not reving above 5000, except in neutral - 850 T3

I agree with John here. "Ran fine till I cleaned the carb". That means something is amiss with the carb cleaning. You had stated you had cleaned the carbs but it was not clear that was when the problem started.

Engine not reving above 5000, except in neutral - 850 T3

One thing I always check first in these situations is the airbox/airfilter. You never know if some critter has tried to use it as a storage depot. Also I have seen that rag that is stored under the seat covering the inlet or sucked into the inlet.

Checking for previous fuel mods on my Norge 8V

I got around to doing some checking and my findings boil down to "Live With It". I see no modifications. I checked the engine temperature sensor. I got 3.52k ohm at 71.5F. Looking at the values in the shop manual this seems within range. Using a linear change of resistance from 86F to 68F I get...

First and second gear are FUBAR

Wish I knew more about a Guzzi Transmission. On Hondas I have seen this if the shift spindle got bent. It would misalign the little gear that turns the shift cam that holds it in gear. It normally was the ones that went through the cases to the opposite side that did it. They may not go in the...

    California 1400 Reliabilty Opinions?

One question I have is what mode was it in? I never noticed a roughness on my 1400 but it was smoother on throttle response in touring than Veloce mode. The dealer might have it in Veloce mode to show all the power. Mine was almost always in touring. In Rain mode my PC800 could give it a run for...

    What seat ?

It's all up to your bike, butt, seat, personal preference setup. I had a Sargent on my 1986 500 Interceptor. Loved it. Later put one on my 1987 700 interceptor after I decided the Corbin I got cheap was only good for resale. Sold the Sargent and went back to stock. I have a Rick Meyer on my 1998...

    2007 Norge 1200 panniers

Insert key. Turn opposite the way you turn to unlock the bags and push down. WHAT!? You say they still won't come off. Well push the bag forward then look at the front of the bag just inside of the frame. See the little wire bale? Flip it up above the little pin it is over. This is a safety...

How bad is spray/debris with Fender Eliminator Kit?

Reading this post I got to thinking that Todd offered a kit. While at times I find it cryptive to find items by category I typed in fender and this kit came up. I know nothing about it (I have a Norge) but maybe give it a look. I think I'd like the tray under the seat...
