Can the fork gaiter clamps on the V7 Stone be purchased locally somewhere? Trying to source them without ordering online at a speciality shop and pay 5x price of item to ship. They're the clamp style ones.

Want to raise the forks in the triples but the gaiters are in the way, and I'm assuming the clamps are not reusable once you undo them.

I think I re-used the clamps first time I loosened them. I got them to tighten up again, but you really need new clamps and the proper tool. Have you tried just pushing the top of the gaiters down the fork tube? You might get lucky. I wouldn't recommend WD-40, but if you can get some Windex in there that might help (dries out when you are done, too).

Should be possible to loosen their grip on the stanchions by slightly opening the Oetiker clamp a bit with a screwdriver or other prying tool. Move the gaiter down the tube with lubrication as suggested by John (maybe K-Y jelly which doesn't react with rubber). Snug the clamps back up again by gently squeezing with side clippers (don't cut through the clamps).

Thanks for the tips. I have the proper oetiker clamp tool which helps, but I didn't give myself a chance to simply loosen it a bit without peeling it off completely...oops. I'll just have to order some new ones and eat the shipping cost.

I had the same thing happen to me and destroyed those stupid clamps when removing them.

I was lucky that I had a spare set of set screw style left over from some other project.

I'm thinking J&P cycles maybe for clamps?

I looked around at an automotive supply place and they just don't have clamps that size.

I've seen guys use zip ties. You really don't notice them once mounted. You can get those ties in different colors.

On my Triumph somebody (PO) used zip ties. I didn't notice that for a few years.
