I am 71 years old and have ridden just about every motorcycle made except a Guzzi, so I bought a used 2009 Stelvio 4 valve. Then my life changed. The rear main seal took a dump as soon as I drove it home and had a guy in Miami replace it. The bike was in his shop for 3 months waiting for the parts. So I took it home happy as a lark and two weeks later. . . . .you guessed it; the puddle returned. Now I am having a harmonic vibration that seems to be coming from the drive train and I am at my wits end. I truly love this bike as it has a personality that matches mine (weird) and I want to keep it.
Any thoughts ?

Was the shop a Moto Guzzi dealer? If not I suggest you contact an experienced dealer to have the leak repaired. The CARC is really easy to remove so it can be shipped to a dealer for repair. Do insure the CARC for the value of a new one so insure for about $2,300.00. Next since it is a 2009, check to see of the engine has been rollerized. If it hasn't you want to get this done so taking the bike to your nearest dealer may be best in that case. This thread may be useful https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/th...-tappet-failure-but-were-afraid-to-ask.17282/

I believe he is talking about the main oil seal on the back of the engine, not the Carc, but I could be wrong.

If it is the main oil seal very well documented issue. The bottom two bolt holes for the flange are not deep enough and need shorter bolts so it seals properly. Do a Google search and you will find additional information.

Correct, I missed that. Thanks for catching it.
