Hey guys,

Take a look at the photos below and tell me what you think. The oil flanges (Part# 2B000579) both have cracks and I was wondering if it is a normal issues on these bikes? Do I need to replace them ASAP or is it a non-issue due to the oil feed being on the other side and the rockers thus getting enough oil?

Swapping them would be cheap in terms of parts but It requires loosening both upper head nuts, which could cause sealing issues later on. Thoughts?

Thanks for your input!

I’ve had several that had the same issue. Yes, replace ASAP. Downside is that they changed the design/part, and it binds between the rocker arms. Best to source a complete used assy if you can. Try not to disturb the gasketed surfaces, and you might luck out with no leak issues. I did most times I did the job.

Thank you so much for the quick response! Any leads on where I could get a complete assembly used? Do you think it would be possible to clearance the new part?

Thanks again for your help!

eBay is all I can suggest, though I might have some at my shop in O.C. I do have one or two of the replacement "pipe" at my shop.
This part is plastic, so not really recommended on clearancing.
