I JUST RECIEVED mg PART# 2S000541,
LUGGAGE RACK - FROM TLM in the Netherlands. They had a Xmas
special, 10% off all parts...got it delivered to South Texas for $ 484.00. (AF-1 racing in Austin wanted
around $ 200.00 over that amount for it).
Now I have to install it, following the supplied instructions...
written by some Italian who thinks and translates on another wave-length, ( perhaps user friendly
for an Italian MG engineer - but not for me ).....
Has anyone on this forum any experience with this installation ?
Does anyone have any caveats or friendly, helpful advice in the sawing of the rear fenders plastic
under-belly ?

If you don't receive any info may I respectfully suggest you donate and access the Ask The Wrench section of the forum it is possible Todd or John may have fitted one.
I am more than happy to send photos of the California installation if you think it would help.

Hmmm, I fitted one to a 2014 California a couple of years ago without cutting anything. The under-fender bolts required a little strong-arming with a long drift, but that was it...

Basically the same. Mine doesn't have the trunk mounting plate (has a few bars, like the tail area), but the mounting arrangement is the same. The two rear bolts aren't obvious, and I had to stick a foot long rod through one rear hole (from underneath) to get the other to line up for the first bolt. Wasn't far off, but those bolts were a tight fit. Exactly one nutfull of threads when tightened too...

I installed a California rack and seat on mine but had to make up spacers for under the guard and longer brackets for the rack because of the deeper guard on the Eldo. Your rack looks Eldo specific so it should fit no problems. In the photo you can see where the rack bolts on to the sub frame, two bolts either side, there should be no reason to cut the fender underbelly, if it's made for the Eldo it should bolt straight on and there should be no reason to remove the fender.
