2016 V7 II Racer "America"

What up-keep are you referring to? The chrome tank is the only bit that requires attention on regular basis. Its nothing that autosol wouldn't fix!

As for the rest of the bike, it is no different maintenance wise to the new model. I am just curious, maybe I am missing something?

Many believe the chrome tanks require more cleaning/maintenance. I am not sure I agree and find it pretty easy to look really good. I had a polished aluminum tank on my v11 sport. That needed a bit more than the chrome but not much. Just my experience.

The fact is a polished surface, such as the tank on the V7R will show marks easier than a typical painted surface. Whether everyone will notice these "marks" as easily as I do is a different story.

My original comment was specifically about the chrome tank and not the bike as a whole. Whether people agree with me (or not) is entirely up to them.

I may agree. I have just read posts where folks think it is a huge amount of extra work. I find it an incrementally small amount of added work.

Having had all manners of bikes with chromed engines and hence, spending hours with a toothbrush to get to every nook and cranny, something as basic as a chrome tank is a welcomed relief to be honest. But that is just imho. As for tiny marks in the chrome... not sure if that bothers me at all. It adds to the patina and story of the bike. ;)

I tend to see details easier then most due to my profession, so it would (and does) drive me nuts. Having wires visible on my current bike drives me insane...but I'm also not willing to re-route everything internally. This is the sole reason why I would not buy a vehicle with black paint ;).
