Multi Media Bluedash Installation

I found the connector on the bike. Here it is plugged in, which works just fine. It's the other side that I don't know what kind of pin I need to put in there to get the power out to connect to the SAE connector for the USB.

oh wow! now I understand your dilemma. Mine came with the that adapter already connected. I'm not too sure what to tell you except that BMW MUST sell that part as well.

Cut the factory Tom Tom connector off and wire up what you want to use seems like the cheapest and easiest and most practical route instead of buying a BMW piece and you still have to wire it up on one end to what you plan on using the connection for.

Looking around, I believe I need two pins with wire leads, which is BMW part number 61 13 0 006 666.

bmwpartsworldwide.com has the pins 61130006666 (quantity 2) for $2.14 each, and the connector 61138366275 for $6.28.

I'll post back when I get the pins and to let you know if these pins are indeed the correct part. You know, for posterity.

Thanks,
-Peter

Indeed, the parts listed above all snap together perfectly. With the above parts, you will then have a waterproof snap-in connector with two wire leads that you can then strip and solder or otherwise connect to whatever connector you want. I connected an SAE style connector (same connector style as a Battery Tender) which I then use with a USB power port.

That's a little under $20 (with shipping) and is worth it to me to preserve the built in wiring of the bike. Your values may vary.

Happy Riding,
-Peter

Hello everyone! I just dropped my bike off for it's first service, yesterday, also to take care of a recent recall issue. Since I had to leave it and it will be there at least a week, I had them order the multimedia platform as well. They called me back and informed me that this would be the first time they'd ever installed one and they're $85/hr for labor, so I just said I'd install it myself. After searching the web, I have found no info on how to actually install the thing. Lol So, I was wondering if any of you who've had experience with this can help me out?

I wasn't aware of that option, what all does it do?
Curiosity question only because I'm in the "less is better" crowd & can hardly operate my old flip phone.

Really, it doesn't come with instructions, and the dealer can't figure it out or ask Piaggio/Guzzi importer?

I looked into this ... did many internet searches ... never found anyone that could get it to work properly. The features sound really fun. It seems like the scooter folks are into this (maybe) and more info was available on this as a Piaggio scooter option (that seems similar to the MG one).

Many of the features are based on the app on your phone (like the lean angle thing, that uses your phone's capabilities, the add-on electrics don't do that).

Not sure if you've already ordered it, but I'd suggest checking on their return policy ... I would imagine no returns are possible ... so if it doesn't work then you are out the ~$220.

As for mounting, there is part number 2S000170 for ~$83 that is the official mounting bracket and wire ... not sure if you could come up with a cheaper way to do that.

I decided against it after not finding any reliable reviews. I figured that by now more people would have them. Probably best to save the money. I'd hate to be out that much. Here's some info on the recall: motorbikewriter.com/brake-fault-moto-guzzi-v7-iii/

Yes I have and it is pretty cool. Make sure you add a usb power source for you phone or it will lose power fast
