hello Guzzi tech team
I have a 2010 1200 sport, on start up I get the red triangle/ oil can symbol and a DSB 08 fault code in the M column of my dash
I have changed the oil pressure sensor ( and tested it) and on start up with cold oil I have over 60psi of oil pressure.
The voltage at the sensor is only 10.2v while the voltage at the battery was 12.2v, so I am wondering if this low voltage could be the cause of the alarm?
I will be buying a new battery at the weekend but is this voltage drop normal? or will I need to check the wiring harness, connectors etc?
Any advice would be gratefully received
Steve

Does the sensor read open when the engine is off? That is with the sensor installed, connect an ohm meter between the post and block. You should be getting infinity. Just making sure.

The sensor is just an oil pressure operated switch, so the voltage should be same as the battery (engine running) or zero (engine off, ignition on).

New battery might change things, but I doubt it. Check your battery earth connection behind the starter motor.

In my experience the switch is an appendix that is prone to collect sediment, swarf or whatever impurities circulate in engine oil and this may coat the switch causing a voltage drop.
Had similar fault errors solved by sluicing out the switch with solvent, kerosene works well, and reusing a 'faulty' switch.
Chris.

Check the connection between the sensor and the connector on the loom.
Original was nail head connector on the sensor and female spade on the loom
If loose it will throw an error
I changed the connector on my old Breva 1100 on the loom to the correct one and never saw the issue again
