Gas tank interchange

2010 V7 Cafe Gas Tank

Will this tank fit a 2021 v7 E5 ?
Here's my take on plastic tanks supplied on 2010 V7 MGs.

My 2010 V7 Cafe's original gas tank was made from hygroscopic material, probably polyurethane, and it ended up in my trash can.

Today's ethanol laced fuel attracts moisture and the polyurethane tank would "absorb" the moisture from the fuel, resulting in a swollen gas tank. The tank would swell to the point that it would no longer fit its mounting points.

Removing the tank, draining the fuel and allowing it to dry in a low humidity environment would "shrink" the tank close to its original shape. But installing and filling with ethanol fuel would start the swelling process all over again.

My resolve was to ditch the plastic tank and install a steel tank.

Thank you for the information. My girlfriend wanted to keep her original orange tank on her 2021 V7 III stone 850, then find a used tank to paint another color and change the tanks out. Was not sure what tanks would fit her model. I was wondering what years would interchange like the 2015 or other older tanks.
