Greetings from chilly Oz
I guess this is mainly aimed for Todd.
On 'The evolution of Todd's Jackal' page it is mentioned about lowering tank on frame.
Any details on this you could share ?
Just lowering or raising i guess the front mount points ?
What about the fuel (is it a ?)regulator at the front of the tank ? Can this be mounted remotely ?

Many thanx in advance
Have fun
Rich

Rich, always best to write me direct with questions like this... I don't catch every post here.
So the crude way it was originally done (by Mark at MGC as I watched), was to bend the tank tabs inwards and lower the rubber bushing mounts for the front. The regulator spigot was torch heated and bent out of the way to clear the frame.... but yes, I later re-positioned the regulator with a gas line and clamps, or better yet, replace it with the newer style tank with the internal fuel pump. That rids the bike of a tremendous amount of plumbing and external fuel pump.

Many thanx Todd for the quick reply.
Its definately an option I'm considering or maybe change the tank not sure yet.
So many ideas, so little money !
All the best

I'm in the process of mounting a T3 tank on my Jackal which will necessitate locating the regulator and also probably removing the frame tabs that hold the rubber donuts for the Jackal tank mounting.

Hi Antmanbee
That sounds interesting, keep us updated.
I've been looking for info on changing the tank, but surprised how little I can find. Mind you I'm not right good at this interweb thing.
I really like the idea of an Eldorado style tank, but there expensive. Considered making a fiberglass or carbon fibre tank but I'm not convinced with the liners needed against ethanol holding up long term.
Will probably go with Todds lowering idea for now.
All the best
Have fun
