Tuned and Synch'ed
Gents,
I recently purchased a 2nd-hand Stelvio, but it only had one ignition key. I was quoted $200 for a mobile locksmith to attend, cut and programme one for me. These keys are quite unique and only a number of locksmiths have the machinery to cut and programme same. You can buy the key blanks off eBay; (search for Guzzi transponder key) and the chap is from USA. You'll get a blank, posted to Australia, for about $AU40. The ONLY locksmith I found that could cut and programme these keys were Northside Locksmiths, 16 Boothby St, Kedron (which is off Gympie Road, near the Mexican restaurant). I think they charged around $35 to cut and programme one key, but I got 2 done for $50. I was also advised that the price I paid for these key blanks was wholesale price.
I had no issues whatsoever with the keys or the service. You don't have to change the key code on your bike when you get the new key. Just put it in and up she starts!
I have no affiliation with either the locksmiths or the chap in the USA. I just remember how difficult it was trying to find someone who could actually cut the keys.
