I let the guy in car wash to clean my motorcycle (2014 Moto Guzzi V7 stone) and I know it is never a good idea but, it was not the first time so i did not mind. He used pressure washer and when it was finished, bike did not start, I waited for a wile and after many tries I managed to start my bike, I rode it, maybe 20 km, but it was a terrible experience and very dangerous, It literally would not react adequately whenever I opened throttle. I believe it has to do something with wet sparks, I am not sure though, do you guys have any idea, should I be worried and what might be worst possible explanation?

First thing, don't do that again. Wash by hand and enjoy the time spent.

Second thing, take some time and very carefully dry your bike.
If possible put it in a heated garage or house for the night and all should be good.

You might want to take the spark plug caps off and dry spark plug w/towel, blow water out of cap and put back together. Take off gas cap too and clean water out of fill area.

Thanks, much appreciated

After washing my EV early in the previous decade ... because it was fun and I thought it necessary, I ended up with more trouble than I can detail here.

Short version is being stranded by the side of the road between BFE, N.C., and its sister hamlet, BFE, Va.; $pending the night; paying for a 250-mile tow (tho the brothel-ish trailer remains a weird memory! :tmi:); missing the Guzzi national rally; and almost missing a daughter's wedding! :(

Why? My happy washing -- even without pressure washing; yikes! -- had led to a corroded ignition switch. :swear:

So, I don't wash my motos anymore ... well, OK, mebbe the Stornello after it's played in the mud. Instead, I use "products."

Good luck drying yours out.

Bill
