Okay so it's not a gauge by a long shot it's only a fixed reference point, but fastened to the reactive strut topside of the CARC and cut to a length that puts the end a mm or so from the rim, it's an improvement over trying to just eyeball the rear rim for runout as you turn it.
I did this before and after checking spoke tightness. For the front, the vertical part of the fender is the only place to secure one.
Oh, also need a light source. Used a LED flashlight.
