GT MOTOCYCLES Re-flash Tool for your ’09 – Current V7 I-II-III & V9 : ALL MODELS

We are NOW OFFERING a Touch-screen USB Programmer Box – This Flash Tool (FT) also handles mandatory TPS reset post re-flash, and also will read error codes on the ECU. The Programmer will flash just *one* Bike/ECU, which will also capture and store your bike’s stock map once you plug in for the first time.

Here’s how it works; Interface the FT to your PC using the included Windows (only) GT-PWG program and allow the FT to update online, then disconnect. Then plug in to your bikes diagnostic port using the supplied cable and read your ECU. When the read is done, reconnect to your PC with the GT-PWG program save the ECU file to your computer, and send to us to revise. We will send the new file back for you to upload to the tool, and flash your ECU. Changing things on your bike often or in the future? No worries, map revisions are no charge.

This tool is also a Diagnostic tool; It will reset the TPS, read/clear ECU errors and show real-time voltage readings at the ECU.

    I read in this forum and also on other places on the net that reflashing the V7 wasn’t really noticeable. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The change was amazing. The cold starting issue is all but gone. You can get up and go immediately with only a slight hiccup, and I mean slight. If you wait 15-20 seconds there is none. The popping, while not completely gone, is greatly reduced. Then there’s the throttle response, this is where the programming really glows. I almost felt like I was on a different bike. Awesome product, highly recommend, 2013 V7R.

    After installing my Mistral exhaust, the bike ran horrible. After the reflash, i can’t even explain the transformation. Its a completely different motorcycle! No cold start issues, very little popping on deceleration (hardly noticeable) and smooth and clean power while on the throttle. This is exactly how this bike was meant to run! I didn’t think I could enjoy my V7 any more than I had since I brought it home.. now, I truly love this bike! Many thanks to Todd. This is a must do for every V7.

    After reading all the posts on the forum I had an idea of what improvements to expect, but the actual results of the flash blew me away and exceeded my expectations.
    Pre-flash, I felt that the issues I had come across were just quirks that I would just get used to. The engine itself had quite a bit of torque right out of the bottom but fell flat towards the middle. Post flash, the bike reacts the way I feel a bike should. It definitely made the motorcycle more “intuitive” and now handles almost second nature. My experience post-flash echos what most people in the forum say. At low speeds the bike is much more manageable. The response on the throttle is much more snappy and responsive. Engine feels great throughout the whole band. Gone is the hesitation and stumbling from before. Pre-flash, the bike would not always start right away. It now starts much more smoothly and right away, every time. Gone is the popping and hiccuping from before. Heat from the engine has dropped significantly. There is barely, if any, bluing of the pipes.

    I have to say, the flash had done wonders for the bike’s personality. My first ride, at home, that Sunday evening, I had the biggest smile on my face. I literally felt like I was falling in love with the bike. I had the same butterflies in my stomach as when I first kissed my girlfriend. The whole ride I was thinking to myself, “Now this is how the bike should have felt leaving the factory!”

    So glad I found Todd who does such wonderful work on these bikes. I live closeby so I was able to meet him in person at his shop in Malibu. He not only knows these Moto Guzzis inside and out but also motorcycles in general. The reflash he applied to my bike after I installed exhaust fixed startup idle issues (present even before exhaust mods) and made a whopping difference in throttle response. I think it has to be about a 10% power increase. Absolutely no dips in the power curve, all the way up.

    Highly highly recommend this mod, feels like it frees the bike. Todd is also extremely fast with his business and is wonderful with customer support… Always a super pleasant experience doing business with him!

    My first ride on the V7 after the re-flash felt like it was a whole new machine. The first thing I noticed, once the re-flash was completed, the cold-start issue went straight away. No more waiting around for a few minutes, no more first gear blunders. The V7 is now very responsive. There is not the slightest hint of loosing power during acceleration at any gear.     This is the second time I’ve had Todd re-flash my V7. The first time was on a 2012 Racer and the difference was amazing. The new (2013+) single throttle body V7s have some very particular cold start issues. The factory rep advises letting the bike warm up for two minutes before you ride. Not with Todd’s flash. 15 seconds is about enough. Power delivery is smooth and consistent all the way to fuel cut-off (much easier to get to, btw). Putting around a parking lot in first gear no longer requires constant feathering of the clutch. In short, the bike just performs the way you want it to. No surprises anywhere. This should be your first mod. Highly recommended.

    Holy crap. I feel like I just got a new bike. This thing is amazing, all the little issues I was having with throttle lag etc have been completely cured. It’s even more stable at low speeds when I’m pulling up to the lights or lane splitting! Amazing. It just pulls and pulls and pulls, no flat spots whatsoever.

    I jumped on the bike on Friday night, stock map in the ECU with the device in my bag. I rode 20 minutes up the freeway to my mates garage and pulled up at 5:46pm. Got the map uploaded, TPS reset and the bike back together by not even 6:05pm. I couldn’t believe how easy the whole process was! We went for an hour long ride around the city and it was absolutely incredible! Couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. No more waiting around for a few minutes waiting for everything to warm up and so much more throttle response.

    I bought this item for a friend. Long story short he got support from Guzzitech and was up and running on his own without needing further assistance from me. While I haven’t ridden it yet he says his bike is running great. We smacked some Emgo Shorties on it a while back and it really leaned the bike out, causing a ton of backfire. This tune fixed the issue. Same thing happened with my Triumph Scrambler; once you open up your pipes and get rid of that pressure you end up leaning out the mix. Open up the airflow and you get even more lean. Get a good tune like this one and your bike is going to run better, sound meaner, and be much more satisfying than stock. Can’t wait to take his bike out again, he said it’s a good bit quicker.

    All I have to say is WOW! I just bought a Stelvio after renting one from Rentaguzzi then falling in love with it. I also had a V7 that was an ok bike but had so many idiosyncrasies that it really wasn’t fun to ride anymore. I’ve been working with Guzzitech for a while on both bikes and I decided to use the re-flash before I gave the bike to one of the kids. I finished flashing it last night and hopped out for a ride and the difference was night and day! No more misfires, cold start issues or flat spots on accel. The bike is just fun to ride now. Definitely money well spent!

    Alrighty! Here it comes!

    So to start, I want to thank Todd for his impeccable customer support. The problem I had (see the thread) was resolved within minutes and Todd sent me the revised map within half an hour of when I’ve sent him the stock one! Your customer care Todd is next to none! Appreciate the assistance very much!

    Now to the tool. Took about 12 minutes to download the stock map onto the tool and about 7-8 minutes to upload the revised map along with TPS and auto-learn resets. Nothing difficult or very involving in this process. Pretty much a plug and play, just like everybody likes it.

    This morning, after uploading the map onto ECU, I’ve embarked on my “or so much fun every time” commute to work. Immediately you feel like you are on a different bike. If not for all the great little, and some not so little, noises the little Guzzi makes, I would think I’ve switched to a different motorcycle. The throttle is so smooth, I couldn’t believe it, but I see myself getting used to it very fast and believe that the bikes should come this smooth from the factory. But they, most likely, have their reasons for making it the way it is. Power delivery is smooth and constant, I can now cruise in first gear and low rpms (NYC rush hour problems) in traffic, as suppose to the previously experienced jerkiness and throttle lag in those conditions. No dead spots during acceleration – priceless! The pipes have become quieter, still can’t believe it’s possible, but almost no backfires (definitely no shotgun pops) and the popping on deceleration has decreased as well. Still get some, but I can live with what I have after upgrade as suppose to gunfire I’ve had before. The bike seems to be running a lot cooler too. I accidentally touched the pipes when I arrived and didn’t burn myself, so I had to touch them again to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Even the shifting has become a lot smoother! I don’t have the “try to shift into first” or “let’s how fast you can find neutral” problems first 10 minutes after the cold start.

    All in all – I’m really happy with this upgrade and would definitely recommend it to anyone who has issues or dislikes the throttle response and power delivery of the stock bike.

    Todd has the fueling figured out on these V7’s. I installed this flash on my V7II Racer. The whole process took less than an hour, including emailing Todd the old map, and his response with the new one. The bike runs just effortlessly now. A night and day difference from the stock tune.
    Every time I take off from a stoplight, or go to pass on the freeway, I have a big grin on my face. It’s really that good! Worth every cent.

    I couldn’t believe the difference this made to my V7!. The addition of Agostini pipes had produced a predictably bad result with the stock fuel map and this was the proper fix for that. The result was a dramatic improvement in both performance and sound that exceeded my expectations. I could not more pleased. The entire process was simple and intuitive. Team that with excellent customer service from Todd and one is left with an entirely positive experience. Money well spent, in my opinion. I loved my Moto Guzzi before and this has made me love it all the more.

    Man what a difference this “flash” made to my V7 Racer. Like Doug (above) I had immediately installed a pair of Agostini’s and It was like driving a pair of shotguns when idling down thru curves. Initial startup was poor with occasional stalls, and a jumpy throttle response. After installing the new “flash” every annoying problem went away. And what a simple install. Thank You Todd and GuzziTech.

    I re-flashed my 2016 V7 II Stone with Todd’s upgrade and I must say the results are amazing. When I read in the forums that “after the upgrade it feels like a different bike” I was a little skeptical, but it is true.

    Since the upgrade the bike is even more fun to ride, the engine feels more agile, cold start and throttle response have gotten much better and I can now rev every gear all the way up the the limiter without any dips in the power curve that existed before the upgrade.

    On top of all that, I was very impressed with Todd’s customer service, from his first email only minutes after I placed the order to sending me the updated map on a Sunday morning. Thank you Todd!

    Just reflashed my 2009 V7 Classic. The customer service is amazing. GT was extremely helpful working through any issues I had. I purchased the stubby mufflers but was able to flash the bike now before I install that mod and was supplied with a different mod to put on the bike after the new stubbies are installed. As far as the performance improvement it is night and day when starting up the bike. It runs SOOO much better in the low end and is way more responsive through the whole range. The bike doesn’t even come close to sputtering to a stall anymore. If I had to use one word to describe the bike now the word would be: SMOOTH!

    My bike is stock besides this reflash. I purchased it to resolve the rough idle/stall issues on cold starts and the on/off feeling at low throttle. After the reflash the bike idles perfectly and the throttle no longer jumps at low positions. The latter gives me a lot more confidence at low speeds and rolling on the throttle through corners.

    I was skeptical about the claims that a reflash would totally transform the bike, assuming riders reporting this had a more subtle feel than I would. I am happy to report that all of these claims are not hyperbole. The bike feels different across all speeds and throttle positions. It is a very obvious improvement. I am no longer hunting for the right gear or rpm. There is just adequate power everywhere. Sounds better too.

    I highly recommend this. It has made the bike much better all around.

    My bike has the GuzziTech 2>1 exhaust (highly recommend!) and this flash. The best description I have is a car analogy: The transformation in power delivery is like going from a 1980’s Muscle car (stock Guzzi) with lots of torque down low and out of steam at 5,000 – to something like an S2000 or Porsche GT car where the fun really begins at 4.5-5k. It’s not that you lose any of that low down torque that makes these bikes fun. Its just that surge you get from 2000-4500 doesn’t stop. It pulls just as furiously at 7000 as it does at 3000… more like a Tesla than anything. I have been racing cars for a decade and flashed all of them… nothing comes close to this. If these bikes came stock like this from Moto Guzzi for ~$10k there would be one on every street corner. It’s that good. Get it!

    I can’t really say anymore than what has already been said in the previous reviews. The ECU flash service along with the GT-Rx SS GP Megs transformed my V7iii from a bike that looked good and was fun to ride, but sounded like a scooter, to a motorcycle with attitude. Not only does it sound amazing, there is a noticeable power increase across all power bands especially in the top end. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

    I have a 2010 V7 which is bone stock except for the flash. I can’t overstate the difference Todd’s map makes. Being able to use the lower end of the RPM range means I get up into the higher RPMs, where the bike really shine, more often. I also have way more confidence at slow speeds and in turns because I know the power is going to be predictable. My bike now performs the way I always knew deep down it should. Would 100% recommend.

    Believe everything good you’ve read about this flash tool. I decided to pick one up because, being a novice rider, I felt pretty uneasy about the unpredictability of my throttle at low RPM. After using this, I am a lot more comfortable and confident riding in heavy traffic/city riding. It also cleared up any cold start issues I’d experienced prior. Seriously worth the money and GT did a great job helping me figure out how to make this work.

    I purchased my Moto Guzzi V7 II Stone last February 2017. Right from the start the engine ran poorly though the dealer said it would get better once its clocked a few road miles. Of course, this was reassuring spin though I was never happy with the way it performed on the road. Several stalls, cutting out at traffic lights later it was clear the fuel system was not performing as it should. A new O2 sensor and a new engine speed sensor later made the bike run acceptably but only after a 4-5 minute warm up period. This was not the performance I expected from a modern high tech Italian fuel system.
    Some weeks of research later I found similar problems on the GuzziTech forum. This lead me to the GT-Rx® Re-flash Tool. If you really want the true performance possible from your MG V7 750cc motorcycle you need to invest in this tool. I was supported through every step of the process. Once you understand what to do (and what not to do) it really it was a simple upload and download process. Before I was prepared to write my review, I headed off on a road trip of 5200km (3120 miles) with saddlebags, bed rolls, tent, food and water weighing 40 plus kilograms (90lbs+). The end destination was the Lake Gairdner in central desert of South Australia. This is Australia’s speed week, similar to the Utah lake Bonneville Speed Week.
    Fuel consumption during the trip was between 17 -22 kilometres per litre of fuel used (39.9 – 51.75 US MPG). Most common fuel consumption was around 19 kilometres per litre (44.69 US MPG). The engine hp performance/ torque characteristic of the engine was where the true pleasure manifested. It brought back the joy in twisting the wrist and feeling the bike breathe and accelerate. The engine note was different. It addition to the improved general engine performance, the cold start performance is 100% better. It rides away cold though it does run with a slightly different engine note and performance until it reaches operating temperature. It never stall as it did before. As I ride along on the highway I can hear a distinct change in the engine sound once it reaches the operating temperature. This usually take about 3-4 minutes. I highly recommend this product to all V7 I, II and III owners. I look forward to riding the bike every day now.

    Wow! I’d first like to start out by saying THANK YOU GT! What a difference this reflash made on my 2016 Stornello, it now runs like a completely different motorcycle. There is no more popping while decelerating the power delivery is super smooth throughout the entire band. The bike is running cooler and warm ups are shorter. If you’re reading these reviews and thinking they sound to good to be true they’re not. Also with Todd’s easy to understand directions it’s super easy to install. By far best mod I’ve made on my bike! The bike now runs the way it was meant to run. Highly recommended! Thanks again.

    I was was thinking, I’m not sure how much of a difference this mapping made until I looked down and noticed I was shifting around 8 thousand instead if 5 because the power was so strong above 5. It now pulls strong for the whole rev range. The bike finally feels unleashed! And no more cold start warm-up issues. Just start and go!

    Believe the hype. This is probably the single most significant performance mod you can make to the bike. The throttle is no longer sluggish. The bike is extremely responsive and accelerates smoothly like the bike can actually breath now.

    If you only perform one mod let this be the one.

    Well I finally got around to installing Todd’s ECU flash update. WOW!!!

    What a difference, no more deceleration popping, much better throttle response and control, better acceleration, way less vibration. Seriously, this is how the bike was meant to be.

    The engine runs much more smoothly throughout the rev range, in particular between about 3500 and 5500, and is dead smooth (no vibrations at all) between about 3700 and 4500 RPM. It also idles better and revs faster and easier.

    The throttle response alone is worth the time and money, before, if I cut off the throttle to fast, either intentionally or accidentally it chopped so abruptly that I often got thrown forward, it was like a light switch, on or off, now it is fast but gentle. I can chop it completely but there is a tiny buffer there so it feels smooth, I would have paid the ECU flash $$$ just for this alone.

    The entire bike feels and runs better, so smooth and sweet, I am in love with this bike all over again.

    If you have not done this modification, and you think that your V7 III already runs great, you have no idea how good it can be.

    Honestly I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to properly use the Re-Flash tool but I’m not particularly computer savvy, but let’s just say I used to watch Agostini race around the IOM TT track and leave it at that! Having the flash done with the GT Mufflers now, it’s difficult to say how much extra power the both provide, but the way I look at it is; It’s really not an either or proposition; You really need both to transform the little V7 into a real live motorcycle worthy of the MG heritage! My Anniversario already had the looks of a real motorcycle well now it behaves and sounds like one too!
