DON'T BE A DRIVE-BY POSTER: As a common courtesy, check back in and reply within 24 hours, or your post will be deleted. • There is ZERO tolerance on personal attacks and ANY HYPERLINKS to PRODUCT(S) or other competing website(s), including personal pages, social media or other Forums. This ALSO INCLUDES ECU DIAGnostic software, questions and mapping. We work very hard to offer commercially supported products and to keep info relevant here. First offense is a note, second is a warning, third time will get you banned from the site. We don't have the time to chase repeat (and ignorant) offenders. This is NOT a social media platform; It's an ad-free, privately funded website, in small help with user donations. Be sure to see the GTM STORE link above; ALL product purchases help support the site, or you can upgrade your Forum profile or DONATE via the link above.
  • Be sure to see the GTM STORE link also above for our 700+ product inventory, including OEM parts and many of our 100% Made-in-SoCal-USA GTM products and engine kits. In SoCal? • Like the new V100, GuzziTech is full throttle into the future! We're now running on an all-new server and we've updated our Forum software. The visual differences are obvious, but hopefully you'll notice the super-fast speed. If you notice any glitches or have any issues, please post on the Site Support section at the bottom. If you haven't yet, please upgrade your account which is covered in the Site Support section or via the DONATE tab above, which gives you full site access including the DOWNLOADS section. This is quite a confusing forum package. "My name is Jeff" has sent me a "New Profile Post". What do I do? How do I respond to "My name is Jeff"? I've searched - before anyone tells me to! His profile is locked. I don't even know what a "Profile Post" is. On any other forum package I could send someone a PM (Personal Message). I've recently found that I can do that, under another name, and it's not personal.

Clearly I'm as thick as 2 bricks on a damp day, so will somebody please gently explain to me what I do to respond "My name is Jeff".

Cheers

Click on your name at the top of the page here, then Conversations. You also should've gotten a pop up window you could've clicked on that would've taken you to it, unless you have pop-ups blocked in your browser.

Hey Dins!
You were able to respond to the PM I sent you so I think Jeff may have his computer configured with ad blockers.
I was not able to send him a PM (Start a Conversation on this forum) but I could send you one.

OK.
If you click on your name then on the left side look for privacy settings, at the bottom it allows you to turn on or off conversations.
Jeff may have his restricted.

Yep, mine's OK, so Jeff probably has his turned off.
So, a "Personal Message" is called a "Conversation", but it's not personal - anyone can read it. Is that so?
However, what on earth is a "Profile Post"? There's a whole list of new ones below the "New Posts" down the right hand side. Mine one is still the latest one. I can't work out any useful meaning to a "Profile Post".

So, thus far, I have no way to contact Jeff with private contact info. I either make it public (NEVER a good move on the intergoogle) or forget about trying to meet up with Jeff next year?

Conversation is private, nobody sees it unless invited to that conversation.
No idea about "Profile Post" but I'll explore.
