Headlight Upgrade

What would be cool is if you could activate the turn signal function on both sides as a blinking light for use when lane splitting. Pretty sure that would get the attention of drivers as you split. My BMW will flash both turn signals as hazard lights, and although illegal, I have used those when splitting if I have a bad feeling.

LED aux, riding light worked well for me on several former bikes and on. Y current GSA. If the light on my new V7 III, will take delivery Tuesday, Is inadequate for my need I've got a pair of Darla's I can install.

No amount of lighting will help if they are not looking.

Would you mind educating me, what about using the hazards lights in that situation is illegal?

In many states, it is illegal to drive with your 4 way flashers on, especially on the highway.

I have seen those overhead LED signs in Florida say "DURING RAIN, TURN OFF FLASHERS AND TURN ON LIGHTS", but people don't pay attention even though it is a state law. Just like lights on if wipers are on.

I've literally never seen a sign like that. I wonder how widespread it is.

I've always used the hazards on occasion, especially in a heavy rain on a bike if I was worried that visibility was compromised.

I've just bought one of these for my DR650 ...
http://www.jnsengineering.com/product/suzuki-dr650-drz400-led-headlight-kit/
... and wondering if anyone knows of a direct equivalent plug-n-play LED headlamp for my V7iii. The DR one is about a 5 minute plug-n-play job to install and have running fantastically. I've finished wasting money on H4 LED bulb replacements. I want the real thing.

Todd, has anything come of these lights?
I wasn’t that thrilled with the one I showed, though it is living on my Racer III rental.
Let me know what you want to spend, and I’ll see what I can offer, that I can make plug and play.

Thanks Todd. The one for my DR, from JNS Engineering ...

... is $US119 for the whole p'n'p kit, and it comes with rave reviews
on the fora, so I guess something in that order would a good starting point. I do admit that the JNS offering is quite a good (cheap) price, especially if it's as good as the users say. I reckon that there'd be quite reasonable uptake on a really good offering in that price range, particularly as the Gutz's standard headlight (at least for the V7) is pretty much as pitiful as the standard one on the DR.
Look forward to seeing what you can come up with.

I used to run a Kawasaki ZRX that a lot of guys bought integrated tail and indicator lights for. They then failed the UK MOT (official test for roadworthiness) because the red bits share the same bit of "glass" as the yellow bits. I know this is the opposite end of the bike, but definitely worth checking before buying for the UK. They do look like a really nice bit of kit though so I hope I'm wrong.

So there's a cheaper option @$189 (Made in China) shown below top, and a (Made in the US) option that is $399. I am bringing in both to try. I am hearing the China options have a short life... so 2x $189 is equal to one good one.

Made in China option:
CreeLED HL

Made in the US option:
7LED H4HL
