Today I was on my way to.a job interview and when I stopped at a light I put my bike (v7ii racer) into neutral. When I released the clutch I noticed extra noise, seemingly coming from the right side. When I pulled the clutch in again the noise went away. This noise may have always been there, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts? Should I get it taken care of now or wait until my 600mi break in? (I'm at just over 200 miles now)

I noticed the same thing and especially after ridden hard, then came to a stop, and put in N. I took it to the shop who told me that Guzzi transmission is known for being noisy. It is when it stops making noise, that is when I should start to worry.

OK, yeah I did notice it right after I had to ride it hard for a moment now that you mention it. So it's just the transmission rattling when there isn't tension on the clutch cable?

Well, on the 6 speed there isn't any check level hole so I used to stick a straw down the fill hole to make sure there is some oil in the trans.
Make sure you don't drop it in there, that will ease your fears of the worse.
Most likely just a noise from riding a different brand of motorcycle.

Well also I rarely actually put my bike in neutral. I'm actually at my interview right now but afterwards I'm gonna listen to see if the sound continues.

If you start from cold, the rattling noise isn't there. But once you've ridden it hard or past 10-15 minutes, it is noticeable. I normally just pull the clutch at stoplight, hopefully not a very long one. Got a V7 III myself coming up to 900 miles.

This is a really neat observation actually, cause previously I'd either done only really short rides, or not put it in neutral for my "longer" (like 50-75 mile) rides.
