I think 40 C is to hot for them, I have now got some oil leaks to look at aswell now ,main one is sump gaskets. Untill the temperature went up had no leaks now sump gaskets and a leak at top of engine somewhere.Yeah my 2007 Norge was terribly hot at 32oC in France a couple of weeks back. Can only begin to think how awful 40+ degrees would be!
I’m going to look at de-catting possibilities as well as maybe looking at a heat deflector like the later Norge fairing uses.

the main leak is just behind the side stand. I was worried that it might be main crank oil seal as oil is around that area, but I put a bit of clean cloth on a thin screw driver and pushed it up the open slot at bottom of gear box/clutch housing and it was clean beside a bit of clutch dust,no oil. The oil seems to be a long sump gasket area so will replace both top and bottom sump gaskets.Oh goodness, I hope that’s not the oil pressure sensor.
That’s the upper sump. Had identical leak on my Norge. Rather satisfying to resolve in the endthe main leak is just behind the side stand.
That sounds an awful lot like the oil pressure sensor. Tank off, airbox off, bit of a sod to get to under the alternator. I got my replacement from Gutsibits. Don’t over-tighten as it’ll chew up the washer. The other oil leak is at the top at the front of engine, not much but it is there, need to get tank off to see better.

It is - search this site and you’ll find many a mention and loads of good information on fixing it. On my Norge you can see the oil pressure switch from just in front of the left-hand pot. It requires a torch & a bit of a squint but you can see it. If oily, there’s your problem.looks like common problems
