Hello again all! Thank you for the help as I'm a new Moto Guzzi owner and enjoying learning about these wonderful bikes.
I had a metal part drop to the ground while I was stationary. I have included a picture. It happened when I was unloading things from the right side pannier and I heard a klank and looked down and saw this piece.

Anyone know what this is and if it's anything critical ;-) ?

thanks!

Looks like one of the "washers" from inside the pannier. A bolt passes through it from inside the pannier and secures to a bracket on the pannier mounting frame.

I checked the outside of the panniers, didn't check inside that well. I'll go have a go at that see ...thanks
Re-read what Robert wrote... it's from inside the saddle bag, so not sure how or why it fell off. You may have one of the bolts missing that holds the bag on, that or it's an extra compliments of Guzzi.
Congrats on the MGX, please add your info and a pic or two to the Registry; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/cal1400-registry-pics-thread-add-your-bike.11538/

You're exactly right..it's a "Suitcase fixing plate", part number B063932 in case anyone cares. I'll order from AF1Racing. They come in a pack of six, even though I'm only missing one. The bolts are there, the dealer just didn't install two of them it seems.

Glad you got it resolved.
