For ~20 years, Guzzi has shipped the Cal 11 and the V7s & 1400s with an ignition key locking gas cap. If you live with them long enough, you know they tend to be a little frustrating and can end up binding, and bending or breaking your ignition key if you don't keep the internals lubed. For those who don't care about locking gas caps, or have ended up replacing the cap with another keyed version, I'm offering the knob below that will replace the key tumbler assy.

The gas cap in the picture at the top of thread looks a lot like the one on my Cali 1400. If the GTM knurled knob works on the 1400's I'll place an order for a polished one.

Just received my gas cap key lock replacement. Super easy to install. Looks great on my Eldorado 1400. Thanks Todd! Super happy with your creation. Now I can vent the gas tank discretely when the bike is parked without having the ignition key inserted to the cap. Regards, Henry

Welcome, I forgot to mention that you should lightly grease it on occasion, or when/if it gets hard to turn. Should be common sense I would think.
Looks great....how does one open the cap? Just pulling the knob will lift the cap? How does it lock?
It functions the same as the key. Rotate the knob 90 degrees and lift out.

so.. if anyone happens to still have one somewhere... I'd definitely be interested!

I'd take one as well but just checked the store and it looks like someone already ordered the 2nd one?

Yes. We can make more if enough interest. One at a time isn’t cost effective.

So to clarify: this cap does not lock?

I have been using the GTM keyless gas cap knob for three years, and it has worked well. I'd never go back to the keyed OEM version.
