Bloody mechanics

The British have no sense of humor...except their 5 princes (Charles, Andrew, Edward, William and Harry) are the very definition of comical... :D

I feel so sorry for Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh...
It's humour old bean, with a letter u, that's how we speak and write it over here, you know, in English...... ;);)

It's even worse when you get a box of bits that someone else dissembled. That was my start to motorcycling.

That gets to the puzzle aspect of a bike project that I tend to enjoy. I find you usually get a handful of new parts too, and they often come in handy. If not on that bike then a future project. And on one occasion I was able to trade some spares (for a completely different model) for a 6-pack!

Oh well, lesson learned. You aren't the only one to make a mistake so don't beat yourself up about it.

Too true. You've got to keep that in perspective. I've learned that lesson too many times, although as mechanics in our own garages at home we have the benefit of not being rushed "on-the-clock". My local Yamaha and Guzzi dealers have both closed down within the past few years. The shop I'm left with has done sub par work on the previous two occasions I've used them. The first time my front fender nearly fell off while I was riding; on the second they broke the valve cover adjustment cap on a '76 Kawasaki. Not easy to come by. They neglected to mention that error (big surprise). Finding a trusted mechanic is crucial for most of us--and not all shops are created equal!
