2021 Guzzi Wish List

The V12 X concept shown in EICMA 2009 is the most beautiful machine design by Moto Guzzi.
Pierre Terblanche's (eleven year-old!) creations were stylistic exercises that had zero feasibility under Piaggio's direction. It was a head-scratcher that they actually paid to build and show them. The overly tall, overweight & under-powered protos would've been a sales disaster... as no one that is interested in a Guzzi would really pay for one. How's that saying go(?)... "Not a snowball's chance..."

I don’t agree. The designer work on what the engine department have available. All concepts for EICMA 2009 specially the white ones, all them are up to date on design. Engine department must do their job...

OK, I’ll bite. How much would you actually spend (meaning tomorrow) and what power and weight expectations would you expect?

Max $17000 on a muscle naked Moto Guzzi heritage with no less than 120hp. I don’t need more power.

An improvement on the Griso 1200 weight will be ok. It is a Moto Guzzi I will not go to the track with her.

Better buy a GTM, the rest of BigBlocks are obsolete now.
You see where I was headed Steve. ;)

As noted above, unless they have (or are) preparing the V85 engine for a larger bore, your wish is hopeless.
I’ve invested to build the Guzzi that I, and many others, want. Click on the BUILDS tab at the top of the page. We can build whatever you’d like that you’d be willing to spend.

Impressive! I am not a custom build guy, but those are built well and look awesome. Will keep in mind for the future.

Like with cars - I keep saying why do they have to keep making things more complicated ?
There is NO need for the radio to be tied into any other system in the car !!
Want to talk about stupid - the MINI ÉCU could NOT be updated if you swapped out the radio ( headunit ) WTH !

Engine management is great ! Timing advance, air/fuel mixture perfect.
Stop there.
No gear indicator calculated based on rpm and speed...???
Gear driven speedometers / tachometers have worked for a 100 years
ABS does not have to be integrated with the ÉCU - it could easily be a independent system.

Traction control - meh... the lights go on when I cross expansion joints ?
KISS - Keep It Simple ??????

Technology is what pays my bills, but is all this @#$& worth it ?
Raven pass me that chainsaw ;)

Honestly... if they make a Le Mans edition for this 100 anniversary with that same actual 850 engine size that will be disappointed. The MGS-01 with his ~120hp was pretty decent and that swingarm probably was a good option.

They really have two way to go. First make a liquid cooling engine to increase power and then bring a 4 cylinder. Same formula BMW added to Boxer engine.

IF they were to go Liquid cooled the would have to do the same trick Triumph used, keep the fined cylinders/ Heads - of they might as well go Electric and have a big black square battery box for an engine !

Before I was talking about those two prototypes or concepts. I was actually figuring out how come I didn't see those Moto Guzzi concepts from the EICMA 2009. In my personal opinion two artworks. I will be very happy to see something similar for this very remarkable 100 anniversary 2021. As I told before, Moto Guzzi for me represent something solid and strong not specially light even when you can race if you want. The Guzzi Californian Family was pretty welcome back but when they removed the Griso from the Catalogue that Shocked me a lot.
