Hi all,

my name is Vilim, I'm a petrolhead, member of the Croatian Hyundai club, forum admin, IT engineer, and a photographer from Zaprešić in Croatia. I'm also a new member of the motorcycle community, and I've just bought my first bike - Breva V850, 2007 with just a little above 30000km.

Since I'm a perfectionist, and my Breva has few imperfections, I'm here to find more information on how to solve those issues, and how to make this Breva great again. And of course, to meet new people, exchange experiences, help anyone if I can, and who knows, maybe some new friendships may happen. :)

P.S. You already helped me, I've found instructions on how to disassemble the gauge cluster so I can replace the faulty stepper motor for the fuel level gauge. :giggle:

:clap::hi:

Welcome to Guzzitech Vilim.
I think you might be the first member from Croatia.
I saw another member from Croatia a few posts under mine. :)

The situation is okay, the government is slowly reducing covid restrictions. They started to prepare for the summer season. Last week my neighbor come from Germany, all he needed was a negative PCR test at the border.

Congrats and welcome to the site. Guzzi is a wonderful first bike for people like yourself. Enjoy and hope to see you post often.

Not in France, except the hotels .

Well, today I'm not so good. Last weekend I've done about 500km and it was great, today i took Breva to work and back, when I was going back I've noticed some strange vibration and vibration sound above 4000rpm, and when I left bike in the garage for about 1h a oil spot on the ground. Oil filter was loosen, but vibration is still here... I'm a bit upset because of that. I've checked the oil and the level is ok, but I'm frustrated with the noise and vibration. Does anyone have any idea what to check?

We can all appreciate your concern and frustration.

Might you be able to provide a bit more clarity/detail about the "vibration" you experienced?

Did you get any dash warning lights?

When you say, "Oil filter was loosen," do you mean the filter was loose and you tightened it?

Best wishes for a rapid resolution.

Bill

Hi Bill and all other great guys here,

It is hard to describe the noise and vibration that I've started to feel. I've tried to record it but you can't hear it on the footage.

The vibration and the noise can be felt when I'm riding, it doesn't matter in which gear bike is, or if the clutch is engaged or not, the vibration and noise can be felt when bike is stationary and you rev it.

It starts from about 3500-4000rpm, and the bike feels differently than before, since I've done just over a 1000km with it I can't tell if the bike is pulling differently or not, or if there is something else happening. Please take a note that this is my first bike ever, I've only have had a scooter when I was a kid.

I didn't get any warning lights on the dash.

Regarding oil filter, yes it was loosen so I've tightened it. This was not the first time I've tightened it. I've also noticed that this oil pipe:

Was covered with oil from the top to the bottom, and oil is dripping from it.

I'm gonna check the bike now when it's cold, I've left it to cool down over night, and I've asked my friend (who is an experienced Guzzi rider) to take it for a spin, I'm very interested what he'll notice.

I must admit that I have a problem, on my car or bike everything has to be at least OEM if not better than that. My other friend told me that if you're suffering from the "OCD" you can hear some noises. Like I've said, I'm not running from my "problems", just to have it all perfect and everything is going to be fine.
