For everyone out there who has these, has anyone experienced the cracking of the fiber due to the vibration of the California 1400? Also has anyone experienced the yellowing of resin that they're made from due to the heat over time. I really like the look of them, however for the cost would i be better off going with the mistral stainless polished slip-ons instead?

I open for comments and suggestions although i know this is subjective to everyone.

Thanks

Gerry

If you’re in the States I would totally agree with BrianR.
If you are in Europe or further afield, shipping costs/import duty may prompt you to look at Mistral, Agostini etc.

Thanks Brian & Robert, Hi Gerry. I got into building exhaust parts ~20 years ago as I tired of buying the name brands over and over and over again, when they failed in far too short of a time from installation (as I used to ride 50-60k miles/year). So I designed and built my own. Mistral, in my experience (as well and many others) are pretty to look at, but have no significant actual use of life in them; Yes they will crack and fall apart, as will the stainless versions. They use thin metal and anything you see riveted will crack and fail as well.
My products are dyno proven and sound better, as well as backed by a lifetime warranty outside of crash damage (and even then can typically be repaired, as they're 100% in-house Made-in-SoCal-USA). Not many new users here know my products by my name (Todd), but you can find them here; https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/exhaust/model_california-1400?sort_by=best-selling -- and many other items for your 1400 on the GTM STORE (also linked above).

Well Todd I think you have a new customer. I'm 67 and have being riding since I was 16 or so. I do all of my own work on my bikes and last thing I need is to spend a good chunk of money on these slips on and have them eventually crack. With that said I'm not looking to turn my Cali 1400 into a hot rod and make it what it's not. I do however want it to breath better. I started out by drilling out the air box last week and putting in a K&N. . I think I'll probably do your version of the mod and cut it wide open with a dremel. So I really like the Chromed V-Performance pipes of yours. I noticed your comment when looking at the pipes in your store that with the DB Killers installed no fuel mods are required but with the DB Killers out your saying they would be needed. Why? Like I said I'm not looking to spend a ton extra.
I have to assume I'll be happy with your exhaust with the DB Killers instead.

Sorry for rambling.

Please let me know your thoughts Todd.

Thanks

Gerry
