Blocked drain pipe at fuel filler cap. Breva 1100.

Hi Jim
Do you have a bicycle pump? A gentle way of clearing.
Some have used air lines but be careful... Don't put too much pressure into it and damage the tank
ANDY

Thanks Andy.
I put a bit of pressure into it with no luck. It's a solid pipe and takes a 45 degree turn about an inch from the top of the tank, I've had the tank off a few times and haven't noticed where it exits. regards jim.

WD40, thin wire and it work it from both ends. Takes time but you will get there.

More often than not the block is in the nipple that screws into the underside of the tank as the hole through it is smaller than the rest of the line.
Pain in the butt i know but I think the best way is to remove the tank, screw out the nipple and then you can clean out all of the deposits which in my case had set bloody hard and needed a small drill to clear.
I ran a wire through the rest of the line but found next to nothing.

Wot he said exactly, on my Griso I had tried several times even letting it soak o/night to no avail,..... Remove that nipple and go for it!

Thanks for the tip on the underside nipple. This has always been a minor annoyance on my 08. I used compressed air to clean it out before and tried a thin wire to no avail, but it always come back to irritate me.

All fixed, I took Fiat500's advise and indeed the nipple was the problem. I wasn't game to remove it so checked the other side fuel over flow nipple? to see if there was an angle just beyond the nipple, there wasn't so took the punt with a drill, it was like drilling steel for half inch, I was terror struck for fear of drilling through the side of the pipe. All good.
