Custom Saddle Bags

I've not seen the Buffalo bags on a Cali 1400, but I have seen pictures of the Ivorys on a 1400 - they look pretty good (they are now made in all black). I have pictures of someone's Cali 1400 with the Ivory bags mounted.

One real consideration is how the bags open. If the lids open into the seat you can have difficulty getting them all the way open on the bike. I have this problem with the Straykers I have mounted on my Cali 1400. I don't know how the Buffalo bags or Liberty bags open.

I have the Nevada bags on my 1400 Custom. I'm happy with them, the only (slight) issue is access to the lock is hindered a little by the rear luggage rack brackets. Just a little tricky to lock and unlock when installing or removing the bags.

Be careful which model of C-bags you purchase. Some of the dimensions and/or capacity specifications were wrong on the H&B website. Compare the Straykers with the Nevada, the dimensions for the capacity offered did not make sense. The Nevada bags are the larger ones, but not according to the dimensions. This might be fixed by now.

The Ivory bags hinge forward as seen below. More pics and purchase info online HERE. The others hinge towards the seat. I'll post some pics of the brackets on my RentAGuzzi C14C, but I use the soft bags.

Thanks for that Tuono. Yr pics convinced me to buy them this afternoon. Not arriving here till first week of April though.
They look great.

I've been looking at saddlebags for the 1400 custom that somewhat follows the curve of the rear fender. The stock bags are nice but they seem to stick out really far - it would be nice to have something more slender? Any suggestions? Has anyone tried Viking Bags?

I've come across the following -
