Hi all.
Hoping I can get some advice here.
I just got a Mistral high level pipe for my 1100 Griso.
Love this pipe, but there is a problem.
When decelerating, it pops and bangs quite a bit.
I actually find it unbearable.
Any thoughts
:(

Did you replace all the gaskets? An air leak can cause some popping.
No gaskets to replace on the slip-on, just metal to metal at the connection. Pop-on-decel is typical when replacing a stock muffler to a free-flow design, in addition to causing the already far too lean running to be worse. Electronic solutions listed above are what's required, even on a stock bike.

Do you have a baffle/db killer in it? Do you have a cat convertor?
Did it do this before the pipe was replaced?
The first thing to do is make sure the basics are right. Make sure everything is right before you start throwing parts at it.

I replaced the muffler on my Griso 1100 with one that had a Cat and it was fine.

The high-mount Mistral is straight through with no cat.

Thanks for the input.
I sold the Mistral.
I actually made a little bit of money on it.
For now I'll stick with the OE can, till I figure this out.
I have to say, I like the look of Tod's stubby system for the 1100.
Any chance of a better photo of the complete bike with it fitted, rather than just a close up.

I have the same muffler. I don't have the noise you have. Sounds like something inside the muffler isn't right.
