Paint code

Need help, I need the paint code for my 07 Norge. It's metallic black. Tried today, no luck :-(

I have given up on finding "paint codes" for my Guzzis.

Even the scanned matches aren't quite right ... and cost a mint for a little vial.

When just touching up, I use nail polish, as I can undo screw-ups easily and there are a bazillion colors out there ... tho it may feel odd browsing the nail-polish aisle. Take in a small piece of your tupperware so you have a quick cover story for the security folks who take you aside. :D

I have, over the years, however, found a few standard automotive touch-up paints at auto-part stores. As I told my brother, who just got one of those "espresso & grappa" new Norges, watch for cars that seem similar. Some newish Nissans may do the trick for him.

If more than touching up, a repaint may be only thing that really works, or you'll look like one of those cars that everyone except the oblivious blond driving it knows was crashed and repainted.

Buon fortuna.

Bill

P.S. I'll ask two friends of mine who have your model in black and ask what they use. One's anal about such things and might know; the other could probably care less. ;)

I asked Agostini in Mandello once about the colour code for my black Norge 2007 and got the answer that it should be
"BLACK - BASF GE22-9659".
Unfortunately, this code did not make any sense for my local painter...

The paint code number I found was an Akzo-Nobel number, nero(black) 5.4M.22.705. I never did follow through to see if it was a good number.
