Hi All
I am perplexed! Some would say quite easy for me!
I have a small oil leak from the spark plug drain hole on between the sixth & seventh fin on right hand (sat on bike) cylinder. I reported this to a 20 year experienced Guzzi dealer and he said it was more than likely an o-ring problem from the bottom of the spark plug tube. So I whipped off the valve cover and could see no way of removing the spark plug tube as I was told to do on the phone by the dealer who considered it to be an easy fix!
However as you can see my cam bearing assembly has two tubes one for the spark plug access and one for something else unknown to me and the dealer. Neither of these is removable as far as I can see and are machined cast in place so unmoveable. This cam assembly was installed in Feb 2014 by a another genuine Guzzi dealer as part of the "warranty" replacement cams issue we all know about.
My dealer who now does all my repairs is now saying he has never seen these type of cam assemblies on a Stelvio and thinks they may be off a 1200 Sport!
Any ideas on what the oil leak may be caused by and whether you have these type of cams assemblies on your 2011 (2012 USA?)Stelvio and can confirm if they are for a Stelvio or from another bike as I am in a state of shock from what the dealer is telling me?
Thanks
Mark
