So I've taken delivery of the V7 II per below for the RentAGuzzi.com Fleet. I rode my mountain test loop first exactly as delivered, and then again yesterday after fitting my GT-Rx® slip-on mufflers w/corrected GT fueling and added the new Dart Marlin Flyscreen.
The new gearbox is probably the most notable change; Positive engagement and much shorter throw between shifts... Exactly like the superb 6-spds on the 1100 & 1200 CARC Guzzi. The traction control was a major nuisance to me on anything but perfect pavement, but the ABS worked very well in my few purposeful and aggressive stops to test it. It even did much better in dirt/gravel then the big 8V's do.
The seat height is noticeably lower to the ground then the last gen, and the seat to peg relationship is larger too. I didn't notice the increased distance to the heads from the motor rotation, but it wasn't an issue (for me @6'-0") on the older models. Both foot peg assemblies, have been moved outwards to allow the shift/brake arms for extra clearance to the exhaust.
The weak link remains the stock suspension. I've added some notes to the Suspension thread HERE -- but even after correcting the mis-set sag (I'm ~195 in street clothing), the suspension still gives bone-jarring hits on anything beside glass smooth paving at very low speeds. 1-800-CHIROPRACTOR might be good to keep handy if you don't invest in a fix. Remedy for this bike will be: RT shocks and Matris Fork Kit.
Stock fueling was mediocre, but inline with the '13+ V7's. Post re-flash (and observed AFR's for fueling corrections), the bike is lively and responsive and the smile-making mufflers sure let this thing sing. Bellisimo.
I'll be digging in further soon as I proceed on modifications, including the 820cc big bore kit, and full GT-Rx® Stainless exhaust.
Is it worth the price of admission over a screaming deal '14-15? Tough call unless you really want ABS, but the new mods are a very nice addition. Now about that suspension.

Todd, what was your issue with the Traction control?
(I should've prefaced that statement with; I have extensive street/dirt/track and race experience under my belt. That said...) In the places where the pavement had successive bumps and/or ripples, it cut the power hard until the rear tire was firmly seated again... Which threw me forward into the tank/bars, when I was trying to use the throttle to pull on the front end to go over them. Also, while on a dirt road, the bike constantly stuttered with any throttle application. So I had to basically idle it along with nearly zero throttle applied, which on a hill was troublesome. Perhaps an upgraded/sorted suspension will help alleviate much of this. I'll keep you posted. For those using it for wet surfaces, it might be decent. Perhaps someone else can comment.

That all makes sense Todd. I have only ridden my V7II on solid roads and even spirited riding hasn't induced the TC to cut in, YET. :whew: So with regards to the suspension, do you anticipate any changes to your current recommendations for RT Emulsion shocks and Mupo fork spring kit? Or would the presence of TC and ABS influence this?

I do not anticipate any changes, no. The shocks have been ordered, and the Matris kit will be installed when they arrive. No influence of TC/ABS, no.

I read somewhere that TC can be switched off.
It can. Per the manual (now available under the Resources tab above), push and hold the starter button for 2-seconds when the motor is running. I was just reporting on how it functioned as delivered. Not seeing mention of how to disable ABS.

It's easy to disable the ABS, just pull the fuse. I believe it also disables the TC.

Sib, I'm wondering if the new angle on the drive shaft help the rear shocks work better? Have you found any change in the rear suspension comfort level on that new bike compared to the older one you had?

Since I own both, per above... answer is no.

I don't know i

I don't know if it has anything to do with the drive shaft angle, but my '16 V7II Stone seems to be a bit more softly sprung than the '13 V7 Stone. Perhaps it's just that I've put on a few pounds and now I'm a better match for the suspension ;-)

Well I am about 230lb without gear and riding quickly on B roads I get launched out of the saddle over uneven ground. So upgraded suspension is definitely on the cards.

Just a shot in the dark, I thought maybe that different angle on the drive shaft would change something in the ride.

I was over in Mandello last week and hired a new V7 II Stome from the nice people at Agostinis and the rear suspension was definiteley better than on my 2013 Stone and,no, they hadn't fitted the bike with their upgraded shocks. I didn't get bounced out of the seat once.

I aso found the lower pegs to be more comfortable.
