A quick question on the gear display. At startup and trying to select first gear, the display comes up with a dash. I normally leave it in neutral for a few minutes and try again and it slips into first fine and the display registers 1st. Is this because it won't select first gear till it warms up or the gear isn't engaged properly? Have tried to find this in the manual without any luck.

While pressing on the shifter, ease out the clutch a little. She should drop into gear. If this works, check the adjustment of the shifting linkage. You may not be getting enough throw to engage immediately.

It has nothing to do with warming up, I would say the gear isn't fully engaged to register on screen. This is a mechanical to electronic interface that has been glitchy for decades, but the newest stuff has been pretty good. Hope that answers your question.

Mine does the same thing from time to time, I just tap the shifter again, and it goes right in. Just a lazy left foot I guess!!

I agree with checking your linkage. I found that it can be adjusted so it limits travel and you do not get full engagement. That is what the dash means. It is not in gear. Mine shifts into first no problem.
