My 2006 B11 has HB racks. I favor the OEM hardcases like those on the Norge.
I can find the cases for sale online, but can't find the rack. Can anyone help ?

Anyone have a set they'd like to sell ? I suspect these are pretty rare items; so I'm
not real optimistic.....

Thanx !

I reckon you're better off with the Hepco & Becker panniers than the Aprilia ones. If you were a bit closer I'd suggest a swap if you really prefer the OEM versions.

Go on ebay or call Pinwall Cycle in Massilon, OH. Last I knew they were parting out a Norge.

Breva 1100, Sport 1200, Norge 1200 all have the same chassis/frame - so yes it will fit.

There is no "rack" as such on the B1100. Just the fittings that bolt into the top rail and pillion footrest hangers, plus a spacer across the back behind the number plate.

You'll need a small metal tab to lower the muffler when you put on the cases. I can't remember if it came with the rack.

I'm very prejudiced about the "Aprilia" bags, I've lost two (one after a can-off, so can perhaps forgive that time). They also warp in the sun, so don't expect water tightness; gap big enough to fit my finger through.

The inner liner bags are quite nice, though!

H & B bags ugly? Have a look at the Stelvio or BMW GS bags. Obviously beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

H&B ugly? I purchased a set of C-Bow panniers and "street" bags for my Sport. Look the goods and 22 litres per side, keylocked and safety strapped. Had to wait on a special order from Germany but more than happy with the product.

I have one of Todd's reverse cone megaphones and there are no issues with clearance.

And then you'll start scraping the muffler more. Another good reason to stay with the H&B panniers IMHO.

At 63 I've survived the 'parts dragging' phase of my life; and have the scars to show for it. My friends tell me I ride like an old fart now.
i tell them to emphasize the 'old' adjective.

Kind of like the aviation saying, there are old pilots and bold pilots but no old bold pilots!!

The bags plus hardware arrived today. The installation kit even included the tab used to lower the muffler; and a couple pieces whose use I can't figure out. Everything needed to install on the Breva is there, so I suspect the excess bits are Norge specific. They're VERY nice. In typical Italian style, there are NO installation instructions. Still it's not that challenging; got them on w/o too much fuss. Once all adjusted I'll remove everything and reassemble w blue locktight. I think they really go well with the bike.

Excellent! While I like the H&B Juniors (very nice and classic shape) the 40 ltr ones are too wide for tight traffic, the 30 litre ones can't hold helmets.

So like you, I also opted for the original panniers and thought that since I was already going to have panniers, I'd might as well max out the carrying capacity to 36ltrs. It was a great choice for me. I took the larger Norge panniers too, the 7 extra litres is amazing!

It's not difficult to get it painted to match your bike. I got mine repainted after it got quite scratched. It looks like new. I agree with kiwi dave that some panniers do warp, particularly the softer material version. I've two pairs, one with a slight metallic sheen and when I do a knock test with my knuckles or a small spanner, it's a damped sound. Whereas there is another version (black gloss) that's a higher pitch when I knock it. That one doesn't warp as easily.

I've come to terms that If I want a 'suitcase' styled pannier, I just have to contend with some leak. I've found a pair of large volume bicycle pannier storm covers. I fitted them over my panniers in a major storm and it did the work of keeping the contents dry. Alternatively, just use lots of plastic bags inside.

I've done 40,000kms and long tours with these panniers - I just love them. Day to day use, I'm hands free, it even has space for my DS helmet. Make sure your safety catch is always on over the "nail"

Anyways, here are some pics of the addition from whence I took over the B11.

Take care and keep the rubber side down!
